He did his BA in Economics from the Rutgers University, New Jersey, United states of America. He studied further from Pakistan where he was able to get his LLB degree from Quaid-e-Azam Law College of the Punjab University. As a writer he has written “Jinnah; myth and reality”, in which, he is arguing that the founder of Pakistan, Jinnah, sought Pakistan to be a secular democratic state. Being a social activist, he writes about the social issues that prevail in the society. In writing about these issues, he is not limited to the issues only raised by Pakistan but also writes about the social issues faced by other countries such as America and India. He writes regularly for Friday times, Express Tribune and Daily Times Pakistan. He loves to write about the minorities and tries to portray the real picture of the minorities provided the given circumstances. He is also against religious extremism, he tries his best in presenting the issues of minorities, especially Ahmadis and this is the reason behind writing of this article. The article was published in the Friday Times on September 06, 2012.After its publication, it created a lot of trouble and dissatisfaction for the religious Islamic fundamentalists. But the wise and educated people took it as a problem for their state and somehow conformed to it. The article is as controversial as it was in the times of its publication because in these days there are lots of issues...

...f the Ahmadis in Pakistan. Although, the writer has presented his view in a structural and coherent, however, the occasional use of fallacious arguments and the author’s unnecessary inclination towards Ahmadis has weakened the presented view of the author. The writer, using long sentences and serious tone in the text, has highlighted the issue before the intended audience. Through author’s emotional appeals, the common people of the society may get convinced but the article is not enough supportive to convince the Islamic fundamentalists. As a whole, the text is inspiring enough to get the sight of common people and to convince them about the ill-treatment of Ahmadis in Pakistan.

Major newspapers around the world wrote about Masih’s story, even though it was often demoted towards the end of the newspaper. It was not long before both the media and the public disregarded it. A little less than seven thousand miles away from Pakistan, however, another 12-year-old boy in Thornhill, Canada devoted Masih’s story to memory, an undertaking that signified the beginning ...
With many magazines and newspapers being shut down, authors are speaking out against the government and the censorship it has established (Iran par. 5). As intellectuals are finding flaws and contradictions in the belief systems the government uses, the religious leaders grow more and more threatened and frightened of losing their power (Iran par. 5). In an attempt to outwit government officials, writers and artist will portray their intended message through a vague symbol or metaphor, as to not seem suspicious (Iran par. 9). The suffocation of intellectualism affects Marji’s life when all of the universities are shut down, the reasoning being that "The educational system and what is written in school books, at all levels, are decadent. Everything needs to be revised to ensure that our children are not led astray from the true path of Islam" (Satrapi 73). The government is trying to eliminate the skepticism floating about in more educated groups of people by teaching the next generation Islamic ideals. This indoctrination will ensure the survival of an Islamic

India’s Supreme Court has called him “the driving spirit” behind a series of bombings in Mumbai that killed 257 people in 1993. The day that Mr. Memon was to be executed was at 7 am in morning but their was a big concern was that Mr.memon was a muslim in this predominantly hindu nation deserve to die. The night before there were several people opposing his execution. This problem was fueled by last minute questions about Mr.Memon’s supposed cooperation with investigators. Muslim leaders and legal experts argued with increasing vehemence that India’s death penalthy is applied more agresively against muslims and other minority groups. In the artcle the author quotes a muslim member of the indian parliament where he says “Yes, Yakub as involved, but he did not deserve capital punishment.” One of the reired intteligence officail who had a key role in bringing Memon back to india said that, if it was a normal case Memon should face capital punishment but in his case, Mr. Memon had cooperated extensively with investigators. His willingness to provide details about the plot, and to persuade other members of his family to cooperate, was “a strong mitigating circumstance,” as mentioned by the inteliigence officail, Mr.

The country of Pakistan has not always oppressed women. The former man in charge of Pakistan professed, “No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men. There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a third power stronger than both, that of women (Lamb and Yousafzai 31).” It was not until a general named Zia ul-Haq threw a coup and seized control of the government that women and men’s rights became incomparable under Islamic Law. Zia’s regime did not allow women to play most sports, have access to healthcare, or open a bank account, and, in...

Mohsin Hamid has successfully captured the dominant political discourses of the contemporary world and presented them as mutually exclusive. What makes this book work is the masterful employment of irony and controlled suspense to create a subtle polemic. As one reviewer has put it:-

Lawrence Auster wrote an eye-opening blog excerpt titled India and Pakistan: Why the Mass Killing Occurred. The content of this excerpt explore the fundamental issues of identity and religion that led to the violence in 1947. The author makes his point by utilizing current event such as the train massacre in 2002, in which 50 Hindu women and children were burned alive. The blog is for an audience with some prior knowledge on the topic and continues to expand upon that knowledge. The blog is a secondary source because it introduces its own unique ideas regarding the issue and was written after the time of the event. It was very helpful to my research because it simplifies the wordy information often found on scholarly sites and condenses it into something comprehensible and relatable to the reader.
