Dissapointment in Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Everyone experiences disappointments, however although they may hurt if we learn from them we are able to grow, throughout the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte we see that Jane experiences many disappointments from the start at Gateshead to Lowood and finally Thornfield. However even with as many disappointments she faces she still manages to pick herself up and move on and better herself. One of the biggest disappointments she faced was finding out that her soon to be husband Edward Rochester, had a wife. Bertha was first introduced to us when Jane first moves into Thornfield. When Ms. Fairfax is showing Jane around, she tells us that she heard a crazy laugh which Ms.Fairfax blamed on Grace Poole. The second time we encounter Bertha was when Jane was awaken by the crazy demoniacal laugh, which leads her to check outside only to see smoke coming out of Mr. Rochester’s room, someone had set fire to Mr. Rochester’s curtains. Although we didn’t know who actually did this at the time we knew that someone in the mansion didn’t like Mr. Rochester. Before we are properly introduced to Bertha, Jane tells us about the night where she saw a disturbing and ugly creature come into her room to look at her wedding dress, and break her wedding veil. Finally we are properly introduced to Bertha Rochester when her brother Mr. Manson interferes in the wedding and announces that Mr. Rochester has a wife, Mr. Rochester doesn’t deny it and takes them to the attic in which bertha is locked up in. Here we encounter a creature that is running around in all fours, hissing and acting like an animal. From her current actions we can tell that she is completely mad, however she is clever since she manages to escape her cage a couple of time throughout Ja... ... middle of paper ... ...for herself since she was young helped her make the right decision. Later on in the book, Jane tells us that although she was pretty distracted by her work and the new people she met, sometimes her mind would wander back to Mr. Rochester, but even though it hurt she could live with her self because she knew she did the right thing. Although Jane’s life was full of the disappointments most of the time, nothing ever stays bad forever; eventually there will be a good experience in her life. Eventually she’ll find someone who will love her right and she’ll find friends who stick around for long and enjoy her company as much as she enjoys theirs. Things may be horrible for a while, but if you keep moving on and learning from your mistakes and experiences, you’ll become wiser and soon find an opportunity for a good life and many things will also fix themselves with time.
