Disney is one of the most famous names in the animation industry. Disney is known for providing entertainment geared toward adults and children just the same. The Disney Company, founded by Walter Disney, is known for its animation studio and business franchise. The company was the master of the animation industry. Walt Disney was one of the first animators to create a cartoon that influenced many kids and adults around the world; his works and animations made an impact on society, television networks, and even theme parks. Walt Disney changed the entertainment industry forever. Famous Characters such as Donald Duck, Goofy, and most importantly Mickey Mouse began with Disney, and they were the foundation of a company that has now branched …show more content…

As a pastime, he sat around doing his favorite activity, sketching. Because of Disney’s situation, he tried joining the army, but was rejected due to his young age of 16. Because of his rejection from the military, he signed up with Red Cross’s American Ambulance Corps and arrived in France shortly after World War I ended. He was disappointed to find out the armistice was signed and the action was over. He wrote home stating the he missed out on something big. When Walt returned to the United States, he settled in Kansas City and got a job at a commercial art studio (Beginnings: Walt Disney’s Early Years (1901-1923)). In 1920, while working at an ad company called Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio in Kansas City, Walt discovered the great world of animation and submerged himself within it. While keeping his day job, he began making Laugh-O-Gram ad films and animation shorts with artist Ub Iwerks, whom he met working at the Art Studio. Laugh-O-grams Films soon went bankrupt, and Walt, moved to California with very little money in his pocket (Walter Elias Disney). Walt Disney started the Walt Disney Company with very little to no money and with no connections around Hollywood. He literally had nothing but his creativity and a simple idea. That idea was to create animation and cartoons for the county to enjoy. Walt Disney wasn’t concerned about how much money he made from his cartoons, he just wanted to keep doing what he was compassionate about, to make animation. Walt Disney represents the hard-working, determined American, and a lot can be learned from studying his life. He brought joy, happiness, and a common means of communication to everyone in every country. His visions brought everyone closer to the future, while telling them of the past. Not only did Disney’s dreams come true, but with his works, he touched and made a lot of kids’ dreams come true. Disney was one of a kind and there will never be another Walt
