Discrimination in the workplace consist on various of actions such as hiring, firing, and promoting based on race or gender or any unfair act that affects an individual in the workplace. I have seen several acts of this in the work environment. Recently I witnessed an employee reach out to HR claiming that the manager was treating her unfair because of her sex and race. She claimed she was been discriminated against because she didn’t get a position that someone else got that has been with the company less time than her. HR reacted quickly and told the woman this is not an act of discrimination the guy who got the position just has way more experience than you have, but also told her to keep working hard and maybe the next position that becomes available you may get. This example of discrimination I witnessed can be race or gender discrimination...

Some people believe that they are better than most races sometimes even for the little things. If you don’t have the palest skin, whitest teeth or the longest hair you should be treated differently as if you are not worthy enough to live. As much as the world has been through as a whole, when will we ever say enough is enough and quit judging people by the color of their skin?
In Conclusion, We need to learn to be tolerant of different races, creeds, religions and sexes. Past situations or practices show us how important the need is for fundamental human rights to be recognized. It’s up to the people to want to change and do what’s right and not discriminate against others.
