Depending on whom you ask, profession could be defined in many different ways. The first approach to defining profession is from Catalano (2012), profession is, “A type of occupation that meets certain criteria that raise it to a level above that of an occupation” (p. 4). Catalano (2012) says that professions have a certain amount of power, have a code of ethics, and have a high intellectual level among many other things. The second approach to defining profession I found was from Morris Cogan. Cogan (1955) believes that there is no definition to profession. He says that you can go to multiple dictionaries and none of them will be identical. “To define profession is to invite controversy” (Cogan, 1955, p. 105). The third and final approach

model starts with the first stage, Preparation and Planning. During this stage, the interviewer looks at how any information gained from the current interview could be used to strengthen the ongoing investigation. Learning about the suspect and making a list on the objectives of the investigation are a necessity to conduct the interview. A timeline of events is erected relating to the offense that is under investigation and that timeline is used to develop a questioning plan based on the existing evidence. Following the first stage, the interviewer would then start the engage and explain stage. In this two part stage, the interviewer starts out by engaging the suspect by relaying to him/her how the interview will take place. In attempts to establish rapport, the interviewer will converse with subject by conducting themselves in a professional and personable manner. The interviewer makes sure that the suspect understands the reason and purpose for the interview, explaining also how the interview is expected to progress and stresses the ground rules and expectations of the interview. The third step then follows
After reading the essay On Writing by Stephen King, it was apparent that improving writing skills is important. The beginning to forming a better career is to first read because “one learns most clearly what not to do by reading bad prose”. When someone improves their writing skills, they can then improve their verbal communication skills. Improving both verbal and written communication skills will lead to a better career path.
Johnson‘s group of students in the video were advanced learners, therefore, applying the investigative process was a very effective instructional strategy for her to use. Greene (1995) explains that the investigative method involves five cognitive processes and each of these developments relate to one another. 1. Observation and formulation of questions. A mental question is formed and recorded as a result of observing information that is puzzling.

One’s career, school life, and even socializing are affected by communication. If you do not know how to communicate, you probably do not have many friends. Communication has been used since the days of the cavemen. When the cavemen learned to communicate they greatly increased their hunting potential. When they learned to communicate on the hunt and before the hunt, they caught much more game then when they were just randomly running after the animals with spears. In school, if teachers and students could not communicate well, how would anything ever get done? In a business, communication is the most important ingredient. Working at a corporation at a higher level, you deal with hundreds of important emails, meetings, phone calls, and other forms of communicating with your co-workers.
The most significant feature of an investigative study is the precision and simplicity of the investigative problem. For a brief assertion, it definitely has a great deal of influence on the study. The statement of the problem is the central position of the study. The problem statement should affirm what will be studied, whether the study will be completed by means of experimental or non-experimental analysis, and what the reason and function of the results will bring. As an element of the opening, profound problem declarations satisfies the query of why the study should to be performed. The reason of this essay is to discuss the features of an investigative problem; in addition, the essay will center on what constitutes a researchable problem; the components of a well formed Statement of Research Problem; and, what constitutes a reasonable theoretical framework for the need of a study.
Since the old times primary investigations do not typically yield enough information to prosecute a criminal case. The information yielded in criminal investigations may be used to prosecute a criminal case or can even assist in a federal case. Even though primary investigations can identify a lot of evidence and information, a secondary investigation will usually identify further details and allows for a second look at everything pertaining to the investigation. This paper is to explain criminal investigations and the necessary tools and skills needed to conduct and thorough investigation.
Communication is one of the most important factors in our lives. It dictates the relationships formed with the individuals in personal and professional lives. Effective communication provides a foundation for trust and respect to grow. It also helps better understand a person and the context of the conversation. Individuals often believe that their communication skills are much better than what they actually are. Communication appears effortless; however, much of what two people discuss gets misunderstood, thus leading to conflicts and distress. To communicate effectively, one must understand the emotion behind the information being said. Knowing how to communicate effectively can improve relationships one has at home, work and in social affairs. Understanding communication skills such as; listening, non-verbal communication and managing stress can help better the relationships one has with others.
As in all aspects of personal and professional life, having effective communication is a key element of success. Effective communication can benefit your relationships with people. By conveying your message and integrating them as a member of the team and not just a subordinate leads to better production. By effectively communicating you can clearly define job responsibilities and expectations. The better you are able to communicate the less likely organizational turnover of personnel will occur. Supervisors and leaders in the professional workplace find that the most important factor in advancement and retain ability is effective communication. Senior level executives and human resources managers are stressing the importance of communication and providing more training for mid-level management. Emphasis is placed on communication being clear by being transmitted strongly.
Communicating effectively and in a professional manner is not only important in how other people view us; it could determine which jobs we are able to obtain as employer Kevin Weins brought out. Everyone can benefit from trying to communicate more effectively. Trying to improve my own communication skills has helped me in my own life and career and can help other people in their own careers and in their daily life.
