A Plan As they walked back to the huge oak tree, Lucinda and Ambur began to organize a trip to The Other Side. The Other Side, which means leaving your tribe to visit another one, is risky to some degree but not impossible. Normally tribes don’t mix, maybe from past trouble, arguments or fights from years gone by. This is normal. But once in a while if help is needed rules bend. Lucinda asked Ambur, “Who is this troll from the other tribe who knows about stones?” Ambur said, “His name is, well, I’m not sure what his real name is, but everyone calls him King Arthur, including me because I’m not going to start trouble over a name. Let’s go inside for a little bit and see Honeysuckle and Tulip.” So all three (Sampson was waiting on a branch) went on inside to get out of the heat. When they got in Ambur and Lucinda got a treat … ice tea and some cookies that Honeysuckle had just baked. “Thanks, Honeysuckle, I was getting a bit hungry," said Lucinda. Ambur and Lucinda told Honeysuckle about their little walk and her finding the cemetery and learning a little about Melody. All the while eating cookies. “You only ate 2 cookies!” Honeysuckle said. “Okay, I’ll have one more,” said Lucinda. “You’ll have two more young lady," said Honeysuckle smiling. “Tulip looks happy a usual," said Lucinda, “I think you’re doing great as a mom.” “Thanks, Lucinda, but once you become a mom there’s no going back. You have to try your best to be great.” “Lucinda wrote a poem about me," Ambur said. “It's her first poem and nicely written too. Tell Honeysuckle your poem, Luce.” Lucinda blushed but went a head and recited it to Honeysuckle. “That was very good indeed!" said Honeysuckle. “See what you can do?” “There’s lot’s of kinds of... ... middle of paper ... ...second and said, “I don’t have anything else going on, so sure … I’ll go ... and Ambur, thanks for asking me.” “Super!" said Ambur. “I don’t need to tell you how to pack. Okay, just a little … light ... pack light. A sleeping bag, a back pack, you know the routine. We’ll have food with us and we might get something along the way. Never know when a deer or a rabbit might cross our path. We’ll have a couple of real good hunters with us. I’ll be in touch soon.” Ambur thanked Kimberly for breakfast, grabbed his walking stick and was out the door. “What a peculiar little old man,” Jackie said. “He might be a little different,” said Frances, "but he’s not old.” “I think we all should help each other pack so we get it half right,” said Lucinda. “Get out a piece of paper for notes ... and at the top of the list, just like all the trips to Ambur’s house, no phones.”
