Clicking Keys Slowly Erasing the World’s Written Expressions For years, people wrote their loved ones letters. They let their words flow and express themselves. In recent years, social media has pushed these handwritten expressions aside. Most teens and young adults indulge in social media and other forms of digital communication as opposed to face-to-face conversations or even the passing of notes. Handwritten and digital communication may both effectively communicate some topics, but digital communication has made daily conversation dull over the years and has begun to disturb the genuine and emotion feel of verbal or handwritten communication. Each of these techniques is one’s raw thought process. Little to no preprocessed emotion and revision. It allows for the speaker/author to remove their filter and reveal some of their self. When speaking, everyone has their own unique voice and is able to reveal their tone and mood through that. When someone has handwritten their thoughts they can’t audibly display their tone, but they can vary the style in their writing. Like a voice, the handwriting style varies person to person. I believe it is a way of showing the author’s voice though it is absent. The fast scribbles and hasty hands can show anger. The precise and direct marks can show patience and perfectionism.
