Energy Paper
There are many forms of energy. The types of energy that can affect the toy car are potential energy, kinetic energy, and work of friction. Potential is the energy of an object due to its position. Kinetic energy is the energy due to motion. Friction plays a part because it shows how much energy is needed for the car to move. All these energies are intertwined in the toy car.
Potential energy is the energy that is stored in the toy car. When an object is not moving the object has a mass potential of energy. There are also different types of potential energy i.e.: elastic, gravitational, hydroelectric, and chemical (Demlin, 2000-2007). The type of potential energy that affected the toy car was gravitational potential energy. The toy car had potential energy it was at the top of a ramp which means gravity was going to affect it therefore the toy car had potential energy (Rouse, 2011). The toy car also had potential energy when it was being pulled back. This is potential energy because the pulling back of the car caused the car to store energy which is potential energy. The max potential energy was achieved when the car made a clicking sound. The toy car showed very different properties of potential energy as explained in the paragraph, and potential energy was mostly associated with the preparing the car for release.
Kinetic energy is the energy that comes after potential energy (“Kinetic Energy”, 2011). Basically kinetic energy is a result of potential energy. Kinetic energy would be present in the toy car when the car would be rolling forward after being released; when the car stops that means kinetic energy has run out. The Conservation of Energy states that energy is always constant. If potential energy increases then kinetic energy decreases and vice versa.
Electric Cars use the energy stored in a battery (or series of batteries) for vehicle propulsion. Electric motors provide a clean and safe alternative to the internal combustion engine. When something gives us energy, it means more than to just give us the required power to work or move along for such a specific task. In biological terms, it means to have your energy be transported through your body and placed by cells into biomolecules. Biomolecules such as lipids and carbohydrates. It then stores that energy in our body.
This paper is a look at the physics behind car racing. We look look at how we can use physics to select tires, how physics can help predict how much traction we will have, how physics helps modern cars get there extreme speed, how physics lets us predict the power of an engine, and how physics can even help the driver find the quickest way around the track.
“Even though roller coasters propel you through the air, shoot you through tunnels, and zip you down and around many hills and loops, they are quite safe and can prove to be a great way to get scared, feel that sinking feeling in your stomach, and still come out of it wanting to do it all over again (1).” Thanks to the manipulation of gravitational and centripetal forces humans have created one of the most exhilarating attractions. Even though new roller coasters are created continuously in the hope to create breathtaking and terrifying thrills, the fundamental principles of physics remain the same. A roller coaster consists of connected cars that move on tracks due to gravity and momentum. Believe it or not, an engine is not required for most of the ride. The only power source needed is used to get to the top first hill in order to obtain a powerful launch. Physics plays a huge part in the function of roller coasters. Gravity, potential and kinetic energy, centripetal forces, conservation of energy, friction, and acceleration are some of the concepts included.
When you drop a basketball, or any ball in general, it bounces back up. But how high does it bounce? If there is no other outside force acting on the ball such as a hand pushing down on the ball, the ball’s bounce will decrease each time it bounces until it eventually stops bouncing. The way the ball bounces is due to momentum and energy. Each time the ball bounces, it seems to lose energy because the height decreases by each bounce. However, the energy is not really lost, but rather transferred or changed. A bouncing ball has two main types of energy: kinetic and potential. Kinetic energy is the energy an object has due to its motion. Every moving object has kinetic energy. Potential energy is the energy stored in an object due to its position. The higher the object, the more potential energy it has. Each time the ball bounces, the ground absorbs some of its energy, which is why different surfaces cause the ball to bounce at different heights. Soft surfaces such as carpet absorb more energy than hard surfaces like concrete or wood. This causes the ball to bounce lower than when it is bounced on hard surfaces like concrete.
Energy is an odd concept, it is something that is neither here nor there yet has a profound impact on everything, both organic and inorganic. However, energy surrounds us in more ways than is commonly believed; it is possible that matter is only a form of energy. Through analyzing the superposition of bosons (particles without mass) and fermions (particles with mass), transformations between energy and matter, the creation of mass, and the mass of energy, the existence of what humans consider to be matter will be questioned.

In order for a system to gain energy the surroundings have to supply it, and visa versa when the system looses energy the surroundings must gain it. As the energy is transferred it can be converted form its original form to another as the transfer takes place, but the energy will never be created or destroyed. The first law of thermodynamics, also known as the law of conservation of energy, basically restates that energy can’t be destroyed or created “as follows: the total energy of the universe is a constant.” All around the conservation of energy is applied. When gasoline burns in the engine of a car, an equal amount of work and heat appear as the energy is released. The heat from the engine warms its surroundings, the cars parts, the air, and the passenger area. The heat energy is converted into the electrical energy of the radio, chemical energy of the battery, and radiant energy of the lights. The change in the sum of all of the energies formed from the burnt gasoline would be equal to the “…change in energy between the reactants and products.” Biological processes, like photosynthesis, also follow energy conservation. The green plants convert the radiant energy emitted by the Sun into useful chemical energy, such as the oxygen that we breathe. The energy transferred between any surroundings and any system can be in the form of various types of work, chemical, mechanical, radiant, electrical, or heat.
Heat is thermal energy being transferred from one place to another, because of temperature changes. This can take place by three processes. These three processes are known as conduction, convection, and radiation.
Kinetic energy can be transferred into other types of energy such as thermal or mechanical energy. Potential energy on the other cannot be transferred into another form of energy other than kinetic energy. For example, if there is a collision between two cars then the kinetic energy would overlap and transfer to each other. Meanwhile, because potential energy isn’t in motion it can’t be transferred into anything else except kinetic energy.
Power equals influence. It 's personal, too, residing within those who wield it. Sometimes a position of authority within an organization lends power to a person, but borrowed power isn 't necessarily as effective as power derived from leadership. Every organization has leaders who hold no positional authority, yet somehow wield influence, while managers who should be able to command respect flounder. Small-business owners wanting to enhance their influence and that of their managers should consider the five sources of power available at organizations. Three come with position. The other two are available to anyone.
