The life of a college student is really amazing and diverse. In fact, a person can expect to live with people from different cultures, background, and histories that it is a mix of diverse multicultural experience. Even more when a student can talk with another student from a different part of the world with totally different culture, this was my case when I interview my friend from Nigeria.

This photoshoot took place to shine bright lights on the Nigerian Culture. It was in efforts that Nigerian culture would not be seen as being black rather than being a separate entity. The models of Nigerian culture who were photographed were seen to capture their culture through lens. They are seen to be proud of where they come from.
The interviewee and I both felt very comfortable, I didn’t sense much distress until I got to the controversial topics, which is great. Both parties should be comfortable when it comes to an interview. Also, although I did wait long periods before talking sometimes and I also cut her off once, I do feel like I did get a decent amount of information from her. I also asked open-ended questions too. I actually didn’t ask any leading questions in this interview which is why I got such lengthy answers from her but I did compound some questions which I wouldn 't do next time because the trend seems to be that she would respond to the last question I asked instead of acknowledging everything I said. When one encounters a culture that has little in common with own, one may experience culture shock. This is a sense of confusion, anxiety, stress and loss one may experience. One of the barriers in effective intercultural communication is ethnocentrism. It stems from a conviction that one’s own cultural traditions and assumptions are superior to those of others. It leads to a tendency to look the world primarily from the perspective of one's own culture.
