Recommended: Role of women in patriarchal society

Feminist theories are needed because they recognize that there are gender inequalities in society; however they seek to create a more balanced scale between the sexes. Some myths about feminism are that the theories are geared towards women and that they lack objectivity, but they provide us with abstract thoughts and analysis that will help to obtain gender equality. They provide evidence of the difference between male and female crime from various theoretical aspects. Some of those aspects include biological, sociological, and physiological factors. Each of these factors gives incite to the possible causes to gender inequality. Although, feminist theories prove to be biased and lacking adequate proof it seeks to explain the fundamental difference between male and female crime. In order to understand the importance of feminism; it is important to know the difference between sex and gender. According to, The Invisible Woman, “sex is the biological difference between a male and female, such as the reproductive organs, body size, and hormones. Gender, on the other hand, is predestined by societies view point, such as, the way you dress, act, your role, and wages. The aim of feminism is to enhance gender equality. I believe that every women either has the desire or has had the desire to marry. It is innate for women to desire a family; however, there is not enough evidence to prove that women commit crimes because of their need to marry.
