Christianity and Islam are two religions that have things in common and also have differences. Every religion has their own way of doing things and believing in what they believe in. Each one has the right to live the way they want to, thinking what they want to think happened. There was a lot of information about these two specific religions in the readings, that were provided. There are plenty of differences, but surprisingly there were a lot of common interests as well. When thinking of different religions, it is expected that they are all different and have totally different beliefs, but not in the case. In the following text, Christianity and Islam will be broken down into common beliefs and differences they possess with each other.
Starting out with Christianity, which struggled to even gain acceptance in the beginning, is now the world’ largest religion. By the 4th century it had become the official religion of the Roman Empire. From the readings it was said in 1 Corinthians how Paul traveled trying to spread the word of Jesus Christ. He would go to different Christian communities and talked to the people, and then wisdom was brought into the discussion of Christianity (study guide to 1 Corinthians). However, Christianity had stumbling blocks for Jews and Greeks. The Jews did not like the preaching of God, and found it very annoying. They also did not believe anything he had to say. The Greeks on the other hand, relied on magic and speculation, so God really was not a factor for them. The place that Christianity was founded was in the Roman province of Judea. With the religion of Christianity, the people are referred to as Christians. Christians are usually found worshiping in places like a church or a chapel. Some of their...

...s outlined in the Injil. With the religion of Christianity, they believe that the ultimate truth comes from the Bible as it holds scriptures from Jesus Christ himself. From what was learned in all of the readings, Islam seems to be superior because, it is based on Allah’s word as stated in the Qur’an and Hadith as well.
Both of these religions are very similar in many ways as shown above, but just like every other religion, they both have their own ways and beliefs of certain things. That is how it is going to be with every topic that is learned in this course. These two religion brought along a lot of information and were dug into very deeply. Christianity and Islam are two religions that are well known and can learn a lot from each other, in some concepts. They were great to learn about and were very interesting, hopefully the rest will be this deep and thoughtful.
