He opened it. It was a gold cherry blossom pin. David smirked; Nina’s favorite tree has always been the cherry blossom tree. He looked at her and smiled. She grinned shyly. “When you get your varsity jacket pin it on the left side.” David had a curious look on his face. “Why on the left side?” “That's where the heart is.” Nina put it on at once. When David laid eyes on her, he laughed. “What’s so funny?” Nina asked. He shrugged, “It’s so big on you!” Austin and Mason were astonished- this was the first time they had ever seen David Anderson actually laugh. “Oh yeah! Nina, I’d like you to meet my friends, Austin Steel and Mason Russo. Guys, this is Nina Young.” The girl smiled at them. Austin flashed his cheeky grin, “Hiya Nina.” Mason just nodded, but Nina understood. David was like that too.. Mason figured Nina must have quite been something to gain the respect of David. Finally, the four teens headed to first period. The classroom door was closed but no one made an effort to knock. The door swung open, revealing a white-haired man. “You’re…?” he spoke. “I’m Nina Young.” she replied apprehensively. “Oh! Becky told me there would be a student returning from Japan today! Great timing! Come on in you four, take your seats. The girl was surprised at how lenient this man was. The two boys headed to their desk but Nina remained at the door still clutched David’s hand. “It’ll be okay.” he whispered, letting her go. “So, Miss Young, welcome to Bayview High. I am Mr. Ramond, your AP Human Geography teacher. Would you like to tell the class where you’ve been these past two years?” Nina nodded, slightly embarrassed. She headed to the front of the class practically half wet and wearing David’s jacket that spelled out his last name on the... ... middle of paper ... ...d you too, Nina.” She rolled off him. They sat next to each other. “What a surprise.” An annoying voice interrupted. Adam and his goons walked up. David got up, helping Nina do the same. He glared at Adam. “What’s that supposed to mean?” The other boy faked a look of shock. “Well, it isn’t every day you get to see David Anderson beaten by a girl. That’s sets a whole new low, even for you.” Nina stepped between the pair. “I hope you don't mean what I think you do.” she growled. Her eyes were flickered with a fire that David knew and feared. Nina was pissed- really pissed. “You mean that I think girls are weak things, and men are better?” he paused, considering what he'd just said. “Well, most men.” glancing at David. Poor Adam,he had no idea what he just got himself into. Nina smiled a wicked smile, one that sent shivers down David's spine. “Care to test the theory?
After reaching the school building, David struggled with the door, and found his way inside; the crowd immediately swallowed him up, before Susan could catch up and start to walk beside him. She then gave up, after his friends, Jeff and Mark joined him at his side. After she had been pushed into her homeroom, number 117, she had two minutes to wait for class to start and sat uncomfortably at her seat, rummaging through her purse, for a lack of something better to do.
“Well obviously! But I wasn’t aware that you had a dress code, Mr. Taff, I
“Hey, you!” said a voice far down in the hallway. “So you’re the new girl, huh?”
"Me too." She replied, tears still running down her face. For a few seconds they just stood there, accross the room from one another, staring at each other through the sparks and small fires. Then she started walking toward him, saying, "Oh what the hell, we're gonna die anyway."
It wasn't a typical Friday for Josh, the curly haired sophomore. He was just finishing shoving his backpack in his locker when his friend, Taylor, came up to him and said their goodbyes. As the principal told all the students to go outside for announcements over the intercom, Josh left through the back door to be alone instead. He did not tend to have good friends and if he did, they didn't stick with him very long.
Suddenly, I recognized the building. Just last week, I had visited the exact same campus. My eyes explored the hall in front of me for the second time. It’s Early College High School, I realized. This school is extremely academically orientated, I recalled.
"Don't be afraid of me Michael, my priority is your safety. David and I are together in this plot to safe your life, so don't look at me that way." My eyes have turned watery, for a moment I thought that I was on danger grown with the enemy. But he touched my chin and convince me that he will never hurt me.
Chris and I sat in painful silence as we waited patiently for someone to come answer our many questions. Finally, Mike, my oldest brother, and his home teacher strolled down the hallway. I assumed that Mike had taken him back to see Stephanie and Marisel.
“Now, I must go so I can find a new dress for the ball later,” I gestured toward the castle.
“Yeah, and it wasn’t me. There’s nothing for me to even make that loud of a sound in here, even by accident.” Josh noticed that she got defensive quickly. He didn’t know her, but by the way that she had tensed up, he assumed that she wasn’t always like that. Josh was also inclined to believe her, but there was no one else around, which Emily played on.
“Nate, I should have known this was happening again the way you were looking at me when I got out of bed,” she says troubled.
He reached over and turned the volume down, “Ya, about her, sorry about all of that. I think Chloe is a little stressed out right now, I’ve got to bring her home.”
“Gagandeep sir. We are grade eighth students. We were suppose to in our English class.” I murmured.
