Reading has been one of my favorite hobbies since I was a little child. I grew up as a normal child should grow and eventually I had to start learning for me to fit in society. My literacy started many years ago, after I knew how to talk and communicate with people. Reading my alphabet was quite stressful and I had to be given a hand by my family members. I remember my parents reading with me and it was the most meaningful and memorable way to spend time with me. This is because I liked reading a lot and I was eager to learn so that I could fit in with my older siblings. My favorite books were storybooks taking about adventures and fairytales since they created fantasizes for me (Rodriguez 16). My parents read the stories aloud for me to understand and I have come to see that it was important for them to do so since it helped me a great deal. My sister would read me stories from her own books and it confused my little head, considering that the level of education she was in was high for me at that time. As I think of it now, it was not a bad idea since it prepared me for a more complex learning to come ahead. My teacher taught me to write my name and simple words.
A few years passed by and I started to gain confidence in my reading. I would go through my father’s newspaper and read, though I stammered reading word by word. Whenever a bill was brought, I cried to read it to them, and I was allowed to read though they really had to wait for some time before the information was passed fully for them to understand (Richter 18). In my class, each of the pupils was given a paragraph to read and it was supposed to be read out loudly. I was among the pupils who were rated to be average, and seeing some pupils performing poorer than I ...

...t me about other people experiences and how they have become experts. Also, reading is an important skill because it sets the direction of my writing skills, and in reading I’ve been learning many vocabularies because the more I read the more words I learn. Last beneficial impact from reading is that reading enhances my memory and develops my memory to avoid facing difficulties during my school journey. I am so thankful to have this wonderful characteristic, also grateful for my parents and my old teachers who helped me out to be a good reader. Thus, my advice to students is that they should try to make reading part of their day-to-day lives for them to learn fast. Especially college students have to make effort in reading since they will be in a position in someday where someone has to be fully able to make speeches and read many papers to perform their job properly
