Google is considered as the leading search engine around the globe. The Google Inc was founded in the year 1998 by the graduate students of Stanford University which are Larry page and Sergei Brin. While studying in Stanford Larry and Brin designed a search engine named as Black rub and after two year they changed the name to Google Inc.
Google, Inc was established on the 7 of September 1998. The Google Inc started their operation for the first time from a friend’s garage in Menlo Park, California .Craig Silverstein was the first employee which was hired by page and Brin which was later become the Director of technology of Google Inc. In the year of 2000 the company replaced Yahoo’s own inner search engine as they starting providing the additional search result for Yahoo. Currently, by the surplus of about 50 % share of the total search market, Google offers search result not only for their search engines but also for different search engines which are on web. (MEDIRATTA, 2007) Google also offer the educational compensation plan in which the company will pay up to $8000 for an employee to take the courses which are related to work in an outside university. The company also offers the employees for a maximum period of 5 year off with giving the amount up to $150,000 to any employees which want to practice an extra education full-time. (Staib, 2008)

Its main business is to develop and host Internet based products and services. The company makes profit through “AdWords” which is internet based advertising program. The CEO of the company is Eric Schmidt. The company was founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page who are known as the “Google Guys”. In the beginning the company was registered as a private entity. In 2004 the company’s status changed from private to public concern. After the status of company changed Eric Schmidt, Sergey Brin and Larry Page signed an agreement to work together at Google for twenty five year. The agreement will expire in 2029. The aim of the company was to make information universally available in an organized manner. Since then they have been doing this job excellently. The company’s headquarter is located at Mountain View, California.

Google has changed a lot since it first started. In 1996 Google's creators, Larry Page and Sergey Brin made BackRub, the first version of Google. It was online for a year before they renamed it Google. The company continued to change after that by releasing Google Toolbar and Google AdWords in 2000, and in 2001 Google Groups. In 2001 the image search was released, and in 2002 Google News. In 2003 Google bought Pyra, the creators of Blogger, and released Google Book Search. Then, in 2005 Google Maps, Google Earth, Gmail and Google Talk were released. In 2006 Google acquired YouTube and SketchUp, and released Picasa, Google Docs, Google Financial, Google Calendar, and Google Trends. In 2007 the sky was featured in Google Earth, and Street View was introduced for a few cities in the U .S. Google Chrome was released in 2008 and 10 more languages were added to Google Translate, making the total of supported languages 23. The ocean began being shown in Google Earth in 2009, and the Nexus One smartphone was also released. The three key threats that can affect Google today are: 1. Developing competition of various search engines, 2. Intense competition of competitors’ mobile operating system, 3. Increasing allegations of Google’s involvement in the PRISM project.
Strength: Google is the leading company in search engine having more than 65 % of the market shares, making it extremely difficult for the competition to imitate or come close. In relation to market development and product development the core values “Its best to do one thing really, really well (Google.com n.d.),” fits in with these strategies. “You don’t need to be at your desk to need an answer (Google.com n.d.),” describes Goggle’s innovation to mobile platforms. “The need for information crosses all borders (Google.com n.d.).” Google company has grown and has offices in more then 60 countries, maintaining more then 180 internet domains, and serve more then half of their results to people outside of the United States, and this relates to concentrated growth strategy. “Great just isn’t good enough(Google.com n.d.).” Google continues to strive to reach for better ways of doing things, through innovation and integration, continue to improve things in unexpected ways (Google.com n.d.).

The company produces its revenue mainly by distributing online advertising. Google also produces revenues from Motorola through selling products. The company offers its services and products in over 100 languages and in over 50 regions, territories and countries. The company assimilates various features in its search service and gives dedicated search services to aid users modify their search. Google also gives product-listing advertisements, which comprise of product information, like price, merchant information and product image without needing ad text or extra keywords.
Google was founded by two University of Stanford graduate students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Their main objective of founding the company was to be able to retrieve specific data from massive amounts of information. The two developed a proprietary technology that would become the ultimate search engine. Initially the pair worked out of their dorm room, then a garage, and once they had quickly outgrown these "facilities" they had moved on to a much larger facility where they reside to this day. It seemed to be a matter of time before they had conquered the continental United States, and had begun to eye the lands across the pond.

Since my audience is the instructor and my classmates, Google helps you find information that you need for your daily life in college. I want my audience to know by the end of my speech about Google //what is the history of Google, /what makes it special, //and lessons to learn from the experience of Google’s founders.
