Introduction:
The design of simple electric generator is performed to testify three important physics concepts by three hypothesizes. Based on the transformation and conservation of energy, knowing that the total energy of an isolated system cannot change, but can be transformed from other forms. The first hypothesize is spinning the nail can lighten the bulb which can testify the basic idea of electromagnetic Induction. The second hypothesize is the number of the coils which are winded on the device is deciding factor of whether the bulb is lightened or not. This is the application of solenoid that the strength of magnetic field produced by a current is directly proportional to the number of turns in the solenoid. The third hypothesize the little bulb will be lightened after spinning the magnet at a certain speed. This one can reflect the electromagnetic induction which explain the process of transformation from magnetic force to electromotive force across a conductor. Comparative experiments are needed on testifying the second and the third hypothesizes while the first one does not need.
Materials:
Four ceramic magnets, magnet wire300ft,a miniature lamp,a piece of cardboard strip, and a large nail.
Methods:
First make the hollow-ended box. Fold it it first then tape it securely.
Use the large nail to poke a hole in the center of the box, going through both sides of the box. Widen the hole slightly, it will increase the speed of spinning.
Clamp the four magnets on both sides of the nail. Try to spin it and make sure the box is large enough for the magnets to spin freely. This will also make spinning easier as well as increase the speed.
Cut two pieces of small square from a cardboard, cram and stick them between the magnet to str...

...nt of individual conductors cutting through the magnetic field, the amount of induced voltage produced will be the sum of all the individual loops of the coil.
Secondly, the difference on brightness of two operations using different speed can prove that if the same coil of wire passed through the same magnetic field but its speed or velocity is increased, the wire will cut the lines of flux at a faster rate so more induced voltage would be produced.

Upon opening the switch the power is cut to the coil, given that the earth magnetic field generates a torque on the aligned, spinning hydrogen nuclei, they begin to precess around the direction of the earth total field. As the protons precess, the precession produces a time varying magnetic field which induces a small alternating current in the coil such that the frequency of precession of the nuclei is equal to the frequency of the AC current. The proton precession measures the frequency of the oscillatin field and since its equal to the precession frequency of the protons it can be used to determine the strength of the external field.
What you will need to do first is tie one end of the string to the middle of the popsicle stick or pencil.
The motor is turned on, the lower part begins turning its belt. The belt is made of rubber so it attracts more electricity than a regular belt would. The lower part builds to have a negative charge and the belt makes a positive charge. The reason this happens is because in the belt there is a silicon part that is built in the belt making it more negative than rubber, the lower part is taking electrons from the belt as it goes over the roller. Causing the electricity to go up into the sphere and flowing through it.
In Greek mythology, Zeus is the Father of Gods and men. He rules Mount Olympus with his remarkable control over lightning. I sought out to harness the same power possessed by Zeus by following in the footsteps of Nikola Tesla, arguably the most influential and underrated scientist and engineer in modern history. One of the inventions he created was a resonate transformer that converts low-frequency energy to high-frequency energy in hopes of one day having wireless energy for all. This sparked my interest in building a Tesla Coil.
Have you ever seen a levitating orb? A real orb just floating in the air. This is not some magic trick, it is science. To make the orb levitate you must first know about electricity and how it works. Static electricity is what causes it to levitate.
...nduced in a conductor moving at right angles to and cutting across a magnetic flux. On the other hand, magnet is a useful in our daily life such as it can hold some documents and use to move an object. For example, a bicycle dynamo is a small generator fitted by bicycle to provide electricity for the lights bulb, it using the principle of electromagnetism. There are 2 law of electromagnetic induction such as Faraday’s Law and Lenz’s Law. In the other hand, Lenz’s Law state that induced current always flows in such a direction so as to opposite the change causing it. When north pole is approach the solenoid, the front part of solenoid will creates a north pole to produce a force of repulsion to oppose the change of motion. And the direction of current in the solenoid can determined by Right-hand Grip Rule. Lenz’s Law also is a form of law of conservation of energy.
The bicycle powered generator represents a climax of the engineering education. The results far exceed our expectations with a power source that could provide ample amounts of energy. The bicycle generator is capable of outputting about 1000 watts hour a day. Some design improvements for future production would include overcharging prevention in the charging of the appliance, i.e. controlling the amount of power induced during the mechanical process. Depending on the need of the power, the overall design could be changed to handle varying loads much more effectively, in the future.

Electric currents produce magnetic fields, they can be as small as macroscopic currents in wires, or microscopic currents in atomic orbits caused by electrons. The magnetic field B is described in terms of force on a moving charge in the Lorentz force law. The relationship of magnetic field and charges leads to many practical applications. Magnetic field sources are dipolar in nature, with a north and south magnetic pole. The magnetic field SI unit is the Tesla, it can be seen in the magnetic part of the Lorentz force law F magnetic = qvB composed of (Newton x second)/(Coulomb x meter). The smaller magnetic field unit is the
This hopefully adds some insight into the use of electric motors, and the principals of them that make these motors work. Such as electromagnetism, binary switches for DC motors, and the selection of a running frequency of a motor through the use of an oscillator.
When you were young, you may have remembered about trying to make objects stick together or move things, like metal paperclips, just by using a magnet. Back then, you probably thought that magnets’ only exist as play things. But, now that you’re older, you’ve realised that these objects play a significant role in day-to-day life.
In 1831, using his "induction ring", Faraday made one of his greatest discoveries - electromagnetic induction: the "induction" or generation of electricity in a wire by means of the electromagnetic effect of a current in another wire. The induction ring was the first electric transformer. In a second series of experiments in September he discovered magneto-electric induction: the production of a steady electric current. To do this, Faraday attached two wires through a sliding contact to a copper disc. By rotating the disc between the poles of a horseshoe magnet he obtained a continuous direct current. This was the first generator. From his experiments came devices that led to the modern electric motor, generator and transformer.
How can you disturb the balance of charge on objects so they exert electric force? The easiest way is the same way the ancient Greeks did it – by rubbing the 2 objects together. Rubbing neutral objects together allows charged pieces of matter to move from one object to another.
The phenomenon called electromagnetic induction was first noticed and investigated by Michael Faraday, in 1831. Electromagnetic induction is the production of an electromotive force (emf) in a conductor as a result of a changing magnetic field about the conductor and is a very important concept. Faraday discovered that, whenever the magnetic field about an electromagnet was made to grow and collapse by closing and opening the electric circuit of which it was a part, an electric current could be detected in a separate conductor nearby. Faraday also investigated the possibility that a current could be produced by a magnetic field being placed near a coiled wire. Just placing the magnet near the wire could not produce a current. Faraday discovered that a current could be produced in this situation only if the magnet had some velocity. The magnet could be moved in either a positive or negative direction but had to be in motion to produce any current in the wire. The current in the coil is called an induced current, because the current is brought about (or “induced”) by a changing magnetic field (Cutnell and Johnson 705). The induced current is sustained by an emf. Since a source of emf is always needed to produce a current, the coil itself behaves as if it were a source of emf. The emf is known as an induced emf. Thus, a changing magnetic field induces an emf in the coil, and the emf leads to an induced current (705). He also found that moving a conductor near a stationary permanent magnet caused a current to flow in the wire as long as it was moving as in the magnet and coiled wire set-up.
The stator is the stationary component while the rotor is the rotational component of the motor. Usually magnetic fields are created when an electric current is applied to a set of conductive wires wound together (Dixon, 2001). Magnetic fields can also be created using Permanent Magnets (PM). Electrical motors can also work as electrical generators (Correla, 1986). Electrical generators are devices capable of converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. An example would be a wind turbine which works as an electrical generator. It converts the mechanical energy of the rotating shaft caused by wind into electrical energy (Correla, 1986). The focus of this research will ...
