Beep Beep Beep i hear my alarm going off and my parents yelling at me to wake up. As i slowly open my eyes i cringe at the thought of going to school and being surrounded with a bunch of immature people . As i wake up even more i slowly walk over to my drawn down shades and grab ahold of the yellowed stained string that was once crisp white like the first fresh snowfall. i pull the dust filled shades up to let some light into my room. Now that i am fully awake i walk over to my door and unlock it so i can go to the bathroom and get ready for the day. The second i walk out of my room i am punched by my older brother in the upper arm. “Morning loser “ he says to me as he walks right into the bathroom and locks me out. Angered i yell to him that i need to …show more content…
as i began reading i started to get really interested in it because it showed you how to build robots and all the materials you need and shockingly i had all the things i needed just in the garage. As i gather all the things i need to build this robot i think to myself that hopefully by me building this will help my grounding process go by faster. Building the robot piece by piece i get excited because i am almost done and will have this thing completed in a couple hours. A couple hours go by and it 's finally done. i nervously plug it into an extension cord and its alive. IT greets me and then starts to roll around my hardwood floor in my room making loud noises i quickly unplug it and go to sleep. As i lay in bed i just sit there is disbelief that i just built a robot and that it actually works. The next morning i wake up nice and early and run straight for the robot that i have built. excited i plug it into the extension cord and it becomes alive again. This things awesome i think to myself as the robot is rolling around my room talking to me. Suddenly i 'm not so bummed about my grounding anymore. After a week of having my robot i notice that it is starting to act funny and it 's starting to
So as the morning Sun rose. The light beamed on Christopher's face. The warmth of the sun welcomed him to a new day and woke up in a small house in Los Angeles. Christopher is a tall, male, that loves technology and video games. He stretched and went to the restroom it was 9 o'clock and he was thankful it was spring break and didn’t have to go to school. Christopher made his way to the kitchen trying not wake up his parents and made himself breakfast. He served himself cereal Honey Bunches of Oats to be exact with almond milk. Then he took a shower and watched some YouTube videos before doing his homework.

I woke up to the sound of my mom calling my name. ‘’Just five more minutes,’’ I said as I pulled the covers over my head. ‘’We’re going to Yosemite.’’ my mom said. My mom finally dragged me out of bed. I trudged into the bathroom and then brushed my teeth and got dressed. ‘’Well look who got up.’’ my grandma yelled. My sister ruffled my hair. ‘’Hey bro.’’ my sister said sitting down for breakfast. I went and joined her. “Do you want cereal or french toast?” asked my grandma. “I’ll have cereal please.” I said. We all ate breakfast and packed some backpacks with waters and got on the road by 8:30. My sister sang a song I didn’t recognize. “What song is that?” I asked. “Heart of gold” she replied. “Never heard of it” I said. We pulled up to the
Once upon a time in a old and smelly school yard with only a basketball court a boy named John Gotti that was blue, grey, and tall was rough on everyone. There was also another boy that was small, red, and with green hair, and his name was Ryker Smith.Ryker was 13 year old boy who was really strong, and good at basketball since all they had was a basketball court.John had found a small, nerdy, and fat, and started to bully her as hard as he could. That is when Ryker had just came out of the cafeteria, and saw that John was bullying. That is when Ryker comes in and pushes John off of the girl, and says” Pick on someone your own gender.” That is when John says “It’s time for me and Smith to fight.”That is when a teacher sees that they are about to fight. She steps in and say” Yall stop,” John had got mad that they had to stop fighting, so he told Ryker “See you tomorrow.”
I was wrapped in my blanket like a Butterfly in its cocoon. As soon as I began to have conscious thought of my crush, dancing, and my dreams turning into a reality my eyes opened as if I was facing Bruce Lee himself. Then I jumped out of my bed if I was running with gazelles in sub Saharan Africa. I smoothly landed into a crouched position on the ground I got straight into my dance battle stance with a stare determined like Eminem. I knew today would be a good day with the sun shining on me through my white curtains. As I noticed the dust from my desk float in front of me I copied its abrupt and jerky movements into the bathroom. I walked on my bathroom carpet like Tupac in a music video and fixing myself to look fresher than some new vans. My sister being her usual caveat smashed on the door shouting at me for taking a while. She is older than the hills. Rushing out and karate jump kick through my door wearing my towel I looked to the clock. “7:30” I said with a Arcane voice and took my plain white t shirt, fake faded lacoste jacket, and some khaki jeans. I looked in the mirror real quick licked my lips, made a quick rap, and did a quick bboy set. I began walking to school. I was hungry that time, I can eat a horse.
As I rush in the building I do not stop to put my bike away I just throw it to the ground. As I enter the class the teacher, Mrs. Bob, points a long, scaly, pointy finger at me and says the worst words that I will ever hear, “ This is your last tardy you will stay after school and clean the roof for detention.” Now for most normal detentions all you do is work on schoolwork but, for Mrs. Bob she made you clean the three story high roof. You had to hope you did not fall because there is nothing
“The Robot Invasion” is written by Charlie Gillis in 2012. Gillis gives informed information of the present state of robotics and how it can affect us in the future. Presently scientists have been working on small robots that could soon perform tasks humans could forego. “Andrew Vardy posted footage on YouTube of toy-sized robots he’d modified to sort plastic pucks randomly placed on a surface” (Gillis, as cited in McWhorter, 2014, p 478). Vardy’s experiment is one of many experiments that could bring us closer to a future where robots are apart of our daily lives. Another example of small robots would be quadrotors. “Quadrotors teams can be seen doing light shows, navigating obstacle courses and ferrying around a submachine gun” (p 479). Kiva Systems makes and sells an automated warehousing system where hundreds of robots move merchandise from storage to shipping bay. “The system is said to triple distribution productivity, and had been adopted by a host of big-box
The sun is making its way up the horizon, but has not yet filled the sky with its cheerful rays. We exit the bus and immediately turned into statues. We stood next the flag pole staring at the school entrance. “This is going to be okay. This is going to be okay” I mumbled to myself. I wanted to enter, nonetheless, gravity glued my feet down to the cold concrete ground. My hands started sweating through my thin-knitted pink sweater and tears were about to roll off my eyes. Shortly after, I saw a shadow of a tall woman approaching us from the school’s front door. My heart beats like a drum as she carefully making her way toward us like you would when you proceed a scared puppy. She stood about four feet away from us making sure she’s not invading our comfort zone. She knelt down and shows us her school staff ID card while holding her buzzing walkie talkie on the other hand. She then ask for our names and walked us one by one to our classrooms. I remember it was so early that I had to sit in front of my class waiting for my teacher to
Constructing and programming of robot vehicle that can avoid the barriers depending on calculations of the exact distance between the barrier and vehicle using ultrasonic sensor fixed at the top of vehicle which contact with stepper motor to enable sensor turn right and left will be discussed and applied practically.
WHEN THE DOORBELL rings at three in the morning, it's never good news. Alex Rider was woken by the first chime. His eyes flickered open, but for a moment he stayed completely still in his bed, lying on his back with his head resting on the pillow. He heard a bedroom door open and a creak of wood as somebody went downstairs. The bell rang a second time, and he looked at the alarm clock glowing beside him. There was a rattle as someone slid the security chain off the front door.
I believe the ubiquity of robots will be cause for certain concern in the years approaching. These man-like machines are being integrated into society, and will inevitably replace humans altogether. For starters, society is filling previously human held positions with these robots, which will increase unemployment rates. It is claimed that the robots will execute the tasks quicker and more precisely, however corporations fail to see the negative effect. The machines will be completing jobs that humans would have executed, received a paycheck for, and then used this to provide for their family. One by one they will replace humans in easily completed jobs, eventually leaving the majority of the country incapable of fending for themselves or
My earliest memory is creating a little garage for my hot wheels. This garage from a multitude of legos was probably greatest things I made at such an age. Later, I'd reflect on this memory, and how my creation inspired me to continue building my passion. I didn't realize at the moment, but every piece I created was slowly leading me to my passion for creating.
I rose on a Saturday morning pondering what I would do today. I got out of bed, then put on gloves to wipe off the dust that had settled on my bedside table. It always puzzled me how so much dust could gather in only a one night period. I got dressed in my favorite garment and bow tie. My mom thought that it was an odd combination, but I thought it was quite nice—Bow ties are cool. I put on one of my many fedoras, then opened the door that led straight into our kitchen. “Would you like some breakfast, Dear?” My mother asked. “No, thank you,” I said politely. “Did you know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day?” She said. “You can’t miss it.” “Yes, mom, everyone knows that. I’m not hungry.” I said as I walked out of the kitchen. “I’m going to the library,” I
The third maddening buzz of my alarm woke me as I groggily slid out of bed to the shower. It was the start of another routine morning, or so I thought. I took a shower, quarreled with my sister over which clothes she should wear for that day and finished getting myself ready. All of this took a little longer than usual, not a surprise, so we were running late. We hopped into the interior of my sleek, white Thunderbird and made our way to school.
“Beep, Beep, Beep!” It was six o’clock in the morning and my alarm clock woke me up 4to prepare for the first day of my Senior Year. I slowly arose from my deep sleep and strolled toward my closet as if I were a snail. After twenty minutes of contemplating heavily, I finally reached a decision on my outfit. My outfit consisted of a navy blue and light brown elephant print kimono, a pure white blouse, light brown flats, and a silver triangle shaped Aztec necklace. To my surprise the clock struck a quarter to seven, leaving me only moments left to get ready. I jumped into the shower and then prepared for the day I had ahead of me.
