Referencing previous statements, when an individual finds art in something another views as "Ordinary" it is generally due to the concept of that particular individual noticing something the other may have missed, or perhaps each individual just retains a vastly differentiating appeal to artwork. So one must ask, what actually connects a viewer to a particular painting or sculpture? What pushes them towards a specific piece of artwork? It is basically as if an invisible magnetic force pulls the viewer towards the painting and a force field of the same nature prevents them from escaping. I must admit that I have viewed many painting in my lifetime. However, when delving into the intricate design of this artist 's painting, I was ectatic to discover …show more content…
My first notation involved the presence of the many people pictured. I 've always been taught that culture is a vital component to life, It entails how you come to acknowledge ideas, how you view the world, what you prefer in a partner and what your preferences are when it comes to food and entertainment. Culture also inevitably defines your environment and how you potentially connect with others of the same culture. Being African American, I can atest to the concept of celebration as it an avid part of my life. Everything is a celebration, from taking your first steps as a child to graduating high school. However, it 's not the celebration itself that is so essential to African American culture but what the culture symbolizes, what it defines –its purpose. What does celebration symbolize? More importantly, what does our celebration symbolize? Our celebration symbolizes being home, being together and being happy at home together. Furthermore, this celebration is never limited to just those in immediate family leniages, but to those who live beside us, in the same town, in the same city, and in the same culture. The culture and celebration that is depicted within this painting is a perfect example of what it feels like to be inseparably connected to a vast group of people, some of which I 've yet to meet. So how and why can I feel at home when I look at the artwork of someone I 've never met, yet feel as if his memories belong to me? I remember the late night church services and celebratory events where my family members and I would just sing and dance all night. misquitos would bite at our bodied, heated by the constant movement of our feet and hands as we all got in formation to do the electric slide for the third time in a row. We were unbothered by this, because we were together and we were
The mixed reaction I have towards the painting is because, first off, I still wouldn’t know what is really behind it or what it’s trying to tell us without looking at it from a distance. When I looked at it from a computer desktop I could see a shoe, a mountai...
...ility and the inability that humans have while they are asleep and dreaming. With every single object and or living thing shown he is making a statement and everything in the painting itself symbolizes something in the world. The portrait is a very unique and maybe one of the hardest pieces to interpret. The observer has to look at every little detail in the painting whether it be the lines, the colors that are used or the expressions that are being presented.
This reflective essay will lay emphasis on one of the learning needs I have developed during my two week taster placement in hospital. Reflection helps an individual build upon their skills and makes room for self-criticism as he or she can contemplate upon actions and make relevant changes (Taylor, 2000). I will be applying the “What”, “So what” and “Now what” model of reflection by Driscoll (2000) in this piece of work because it is a more coherent and comprehensible approach to follow when writing a reflective account and is also an easier guide to writing reflections. The learning need I chose to reflect on from my learning plan is having a better understanding of diabetes and the 6 basic medications used in treating the condition since it is a common illness on the ward I am have been allocated on for my first placement. The timescale set for achieving this objective was by the end of my two week placement that is from 27th January to 9th February and I achieved it with the help of a host of factors. In this assignment, all the names of the patients and wards have been omitted and indicated with letters and numbers for confidentiality reasons as stated in the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct (2008). The paper will primarily touch on the type 2 diabetes and furthermore on the achievement on my learning need.
...oughts and feeling would be mostly the heaviness, and darkness of the brush strokes. It is almost as though I could feel the emotion Van Gogh had when he was painting this work. This is in fact the one and only work at the Detroit Institute of Art that caught my eyes and actually made me interested to find out just why exactly the work made me feel the way I did. These brush strokes were what made Van Gogh so unique, and I now see why. They make you think and feel. No other work of art has ever successfully done any such thing to me. Van Gogh’s work represents, in many fashions, the quest for self-serenity, as seen by the figures all relaxing by a riverbank. What this work gave me was the knowledge to be able to understand artworks, and be able to perhaps decipher what the artist is implying, and that art is much more than simply a bunch of colors made into a scene.
When looking at a piece of art a sense of wonder and beauty bewitches the beholder.
My sixteen week class in English 111. I was really nervous about this class. Because English has never been my strong point. This class has hard, but fun all at the same time. I learn a lot from this class. Meanwhile, the first day of class you handed a paper with a question on it. “The first thing I want to say to you who are students is that you must not think of being here to receive an education; instead, you will do much better to think of being here to claim one.” Even though putting my all in what I have learned, claiming my education with hard work because using the skills of the meal plan, as we write to different audiences and learning to be a Critically thinker as I start becoming a critically-Literate Citizenship.
Something amazing about art is that everyone sees it in a slightly different manner. Some people might see a deep meaning behind a work of art, while others think it looks bland and unimaginative. When we learn all the processes and techniques used in art, not admiring it is almost impossible. Girl before a Mirror by Pablo Picasso is a unique work of art because Picasso used various techniques that entice and intrigue the viewer.
I took this opportunity to observe an art activity at the Victor Valley Community College State Preschool classroom. When observing an art activity, I was really caught up between a cooking activity and a woodshop activity. Both, in which promotes a creative learning environment that coincides with art, science, math, and literacy. So, I have decided to write about the cooking activity. I believe art does not only pertain to paint and coloring. Art is something that allows children to express their creativity through language and literacy. That train of thought creates a learning foundation for the children that encourages them to use words to express their ideas and imagination.
Spirituality is definitely a part of the art world, just as it is for any other creative aspect of life. Spirituality is about a connection to something greater than your conscious self – your human spirit. The creative side of us demands that we connect with a part of our essence which allows us to transfer an image or thought to a form in which the senses can absorb the intended message. For me, Spirituality is about connecting with that which is not already encompassed within the five senses of sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. It is a knowledge or energy that comes from something greater than we are as individuals.
Art has a rare capability of evoking different emotions in different people. Two people can look at the same piece of art and see two images that are entirely dissimilar. What one perceives while looking at art depends on a person’s state of mind. If one is happy, he or she will find something cheerful and pleasing in the work of art. However, if one is depressed or going through a hard time, it will be as if they are looking at two paintings or two sculptures that are totally unalike. The artist’s purpose in creating his or her masterpiece is to create something that will make the viewer think and imagine what the piece of art is showing them. Malcolm Gladwell states in Blink:
Generally speaking artist typically use their form of artwork to pass along their viewpoints or feelings. It is the creation that lets the observer interpret art any way that they see it because interpreting it solely depends on the person’s past experiences, their thoughts, culture and associations. In addition to allowing the artist
Before participating the ART 100 course, I really don’t know how are the elements of art and principles of design. It is interesting when I have some background about the art after finishing this course. This class has given me so much knowledge about the work of art. Now when I look at a painting, I can analyze the work of art based on the elements of art which is line, shape, forms, space, color, and texture; I also describe an overview of an artwork such as emphasis, unity, movement, or proportion.
The Art Institute of Chicago helped me embrace the different: works, forms, time periods, and themes of arts that have been around since the start of time. This was the first time I have ever been to the Art Institute of Chicago and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting and embracing every single piece of art I walked past. I enjoyed how the museum was divided and made it easy to find a specific time period you were looking for or a specific category of art. I found so many things interesting in the museum like: the Roman art, the Egyptian art, Asian art, Modern art, Picasso’s work, and the paintings of the 1800s. Without taking this class I would not have been able to recognize any of these paintings and would not be able to look at the symbolism behind each work of art. With this course coming to the end I am able to identify many different pieces and works of art, which makes it exciting. There was nothing that I disliked about the museum, although I find more things exciting than others there was nothing that made me hate it. I found four pieces that popped out to me the most: Mummy Head Cover, Shiva Lord of Dance, Laban Searching for Family Idols among the Possessions of Joseph, and A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. Each of these pieces came from a different time period and all used a different techniques of art. Seeing all of these pieces in person compared to in the book is an experience that I will never forget.
I will fund my exhibit through donations and sales. I would reach out to the community, explain my exhibit and ask for donations, but I would primarily generate revenue through selling items related to the exhibit like prints of the works being shown, creative posters, key chains, t-shirts and other mementos. Additionally, I would have bake sales and fairs and other activities of a similar nature.
Many people argue over the answer to this question. There are several different interpretations of the correct answer is . Most people automatically think that the word Art is referring to the types of music, dance or visual art that you might be used to .Although others will probably describe Art as a picture, painting, sculpture, or maybe even a form of music that expresses one’s own thoughts or feelings. However, I believe that Art is much more than that. To me, art is more of a creative way to express my deepest passions, thoughts, and emotions.
