Holocaust Denial “The Holocaust (also called the Ha-Shoah in Hebrew) refers to the period from January 30,1933- when Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany- to May 8, 1945, when the war in Europe officially ended. During this time, Jews in Europe were subjected to progressively harsher persecution that ultimately led to the murder of 6,000,000 Jews (1.5 million of them being children) and the destruction of 5,000 Jewish communities. These deaths represented two-thirds of European Jewry and one-third of all world Jewry” (“The Holocaust: An Introductory History”). Hitler called the Jews a parasitic vermin, and said that they would be finally exterminated. Hitler had several work camps/ factories for the Jews to work in. “It is not cruel to shoot them if they would not or could not work,” he said(skeptic 's dictionary). Hitler compared the Jews to infected animals who had to be killed so that they could not damage others. “Why should the beasts who wanted to bring Bolshevism (they do not have the same political views of him) be spared more than the innocent infected animals”(Sceptics dictionary). Hitler’s intentions were to kill and as he said, “I made it plain that they, this parasitic vermin in Europe, will be finally exterminated” (Sceptics Dictionary).
Gas chambers were used to exterminate mass numbers of humans. The Nazis told people that they were going in the chambers to be disinfected by hot showers. When the Jews and other “vermin” would enter, they would look for shower spouts but all they would see were holes in the ceiling.
