Deforestation plays a vital role in global warming. Global warming is caused by an increase in the greenhouse gas resulting in rise of earth’s surface temperature. Greenhouse gas absorbs radiation from the sun, re emits it through internal reflections across the earth’s surface and prevents it to reflect back to the atmosphere .These greenhouse gases include CO2, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) etc. .The major reasons for the increase in greenhouse gases are deforestation, soil erosion, emissions from vehicles, burning biomass, bio fuel and release of CFC’s by refrigerators and airplanes, etc.
The forest covering area across the globe has been decreasing every year .The world currently has annual forest loss of about 7.3 hectares and if it continues, within a decade, this is going to erase all the rain forests across the earth .Because of this loss, there will be an increase of 12 to 17% of greenhouse gas emissions (“51 Facts About Deforestation - Conserve Energy Future,” n .d.). Because of the above mentioned reasons, various changes have taken place across the globe, which includes famines, droughts, desertification, floods, climate variations and many more. Ravindranath et al. (2012) in a magazine named Current Science stated that annual deforestation in India between 2007 - 2009 is 99,850 hectares (p.1117).
This paper presents the major causes of greenhouse gas emission namely deforestation, soil erosion, burning biomass, emissions from vehicles, and it also provides information regarding how greenhouse gas emission takes place by deforestation and soil erosion. How these phenomena affect global warming?
Firstly, deforestation is cutting down or burning the trees or clearing the f...

The Effects Of Deforestation On The Environment Essay

- Since the beginning of time, people have always cut down trees. Wood has been used in many ways, sometimes as a heating fuel, or as a building material for houses and furniture. Not to mention that wood can also be used to produce paper. No one can ignore the need for trees as a major valuable resource for countries and businesses. And no one can deny that many cultures and communities make a huge deal of paper production and usage. As one might imagine, the importance of forests themselves is something unquestionable....   [tags: Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Deforestation]

Essay on Deforestation And Its Effects On America

- In the world today, trees are being destroyed at a far greater rate than they are being planted. People watch as forests that house many animals are annihilated in a few short weeks as if these forests were meaningless. The worse part is that people rejoice that the trees are being removed, because there will be a new building created soon that will open up opportunities for businesses. The people don’t care that animals lost their homes, or maybe they don’t realize it. The same goes for the loss of native species....   [tags: Carbon dioxide, Global warming, Deforestation]

Effects Of Deforestation On The Philippines Essay

- It is not a question that natural systems all over the world have been greatly affected by natural occurrences and especially by human activities. Many has been altered, polluted, or completely destroyed. One of many complications that we have been facing is deforestation, “the complete removal of existing forests and their replacement by other forms of land use (Walpole, 1993).” This environmental issue can be found all over the globe, especially in the Philippines. This issue has been dated back when the Spanish colonized the Philippines around 1521....   [tags: Carbon dioxide, Global warming]

Deforestation And Its Effects On The World Essay

- It is predicted that in approximately forty to one hundred years from now, there will no longer be any rainforest. People have been deforesting the Earth for thousands of years, primarily to clear land for crops or livestock. Deforestation happens in many different ways: when trees are cut down to grow crops, for livestock, logging so wood can be used for building things like houses and furniture, for roads and neighborhoods, for firewood, and forest fires. Deforestation can also be good for farming purposes and making houses....   [tags: Global warming, Climate change, Climate]

Effects in our Environment and a Christian’s Role in Preserving and Restoring it

- Since the beginning of the industrial era, humans have contributed to a wide range of negative affects concerning the environment, and the current condition of our environment. Pollution alone contributes to global warming and public health warning; while deforestation affects our climate, ecological system, and water table cycle. Research that will be provided in this essay will reveal how pollution and deforestation have many negative impacts on our environment significantly; by identifying effects on the environment endures....   [tags: pollution, global warming, deforestation]

The Effects Of Deforestation On The Environment Essay

- The Enhanced Greenhouse Effect is a destructive phenomenon that is slowly heating the Earth. The release of excess greenhouse gases such as, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and methane, is contributing to the entrapment of heat in the atmosphere. One of the major gases contributing to this effect is carbon dioxide. There are various different sources that result in the release of this gas, one of them being deforestation. Deforestation is contributing greatly to the enhanced greenhouse effect, as the clearing of forests cause an increase in the concentration of carbon compounds in the atmosphere....   [tags: Carbon dioxide, Fossil fuel, Global warming]

According to the 2010 Global Forest Resources Assessment, deforestation releases nearly a billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere per year, though the numbers are not as high as the ones recorded in the previous decade....   [tags: Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Air pollution]

Essay on Global Warming And Its Effects

- Global Warming Devastating flooding, chocking smog, and rising sea levels of up to 230 feet are all waiting at peoples’ doorstep’s if Global Warming continues to go unchecked. If the world continues to turn a blind eye to Global warming, Earth could reach a point of no return. Global warming is the trapping of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This trapping prevents the planets heat from escaping the planet, and without this release the base temperature of the planet will continue to rise. Global warming is an alarming issue being caused mostly from the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation and has drastic effects such as rapidly melting glaciers and extreme weather patterns, but these...   [tags: Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Greenhouse gas]

Global Warming And Its Effects Essay

- Although Earth experiences natural warming and cooling via the process known as the Greenhouse Effect, human actions have caused the warming to significantly increase at a rapid rate. As the planet has been warming, the number of severe storms has risen, indicating that there are changes taking place in the atmosphere. This increase in dangerous weather threatens human lives. The claim that global warming is not occurring has been brought up by some researchers and scientists, but it has been documented that alarming changes in global temperature really have been taking place....   [tags: Carbon dioxide, Greenhouse gas, Global warming]

Essay on The Harmful Effects of Deforestation

- Deforestation has caused many huge impacts on the environment and we should cease the logging and burning being done to it. Forests account for most of our global changes that have been happening recently, since they act as the lungs of the earth. The great loss of them has caused there to be a steadily growing amount of carbon dioxide as well as other greenhouse gases. “Deforestation has such a massive effect on climate change that Indonesia and Brazil are now the third and fourth largest emitters of carbon dioxide on the planet.” When rainforests are logged or burnt, large amounts of carbon dioxide are spread into the atmosphere, adding to global warming....   [tags: Deforestation Essays]
