GNU is the operating system in computers, which was made or published by the GNU project. It was a free software operating system. And was also known to be Unix-like operating system. The goal of publishing or developing the GNU was to bring a fully free software operating system on. So that users can have the freedom in studying the source code of the current software they are using, also they can have the freedom to share this software to other people, freedom in publishing any of the modified version of this software and lastly they have the freedom in modifying the software behavior. The father of the GNU development was Richard Stallman, the person who initiates of developing such. You can just readily install the different versions of GNU, which was always known to be free software. Since that the GNU project of free software was widely and popularly used by many users, Richard Stallman who was the father of this Gnu project wrote its first copyright license known to be the GNU general public license was to ensure the best guarantee to the individuals, organizations and companies who are using this free software that the rights of this software was being retained.

The GNU public license was having 3 different versions that were released. The first version of the license was the version 1 its goal was to let this license to be used for any kind of projects and to make those projects possible to share a code. The next version released was the second version or the version 2 in 1991.
