Opera in the Nineteenth Century

How would feel if you were in the La Scala opera house, listening to a Vincenzo Bellini operas. Would it be warm felt or just would be nice to be there. To know that there is people out there that can sing with the power and flexibility that they can do. Vincenzo Bellini is one of the many opera composers that the nineteenth century had to offer (The National Opera Center America). Bellini like many of the composers in this time was born in Italy. During the nineteenth century, opera stories most of the time was had a theme of passion and romance. That is one of the reasons that this century is also called Romantic Era.
What is opera? Opera is a theatrical work that was set to music for people to sing. People that sing regular music probably never tried to sing opera because the singers never had a microphone to use and the opera houses that they did the operas in was big so they had to reach the outer portions of the room. Opera houses were built for the extra space they need to put on the shows that they were doing. With extra space and more seats there need to be a change in how opera were done. Operas started to become more romantic and have more passion than ever before. With that came a style of singing using full rich broad tones and smooth phrasing, which is called bel canto style. The style is defined by beautiful singing.
Why does Italy have a big role in opera? Opera started in Italy around the 1600’s. Italy also was the first ones to do opera. Italian was one of the languages that is artistic was really nice to hear. Many of the composers have also came from Italy and gave back to the nation that they have come from. ... made it last a long time. The work that they did paved the road for the people that are going to come down the road that they have done. The principles that they have put down make opera a genre of classical music. Nineteenth century was a century that marks its time in the history books for the rest of time. From the composers to the events that happen that this century was the best one that happened for opera.
