Decisions That Change My Life: Public and Private Language by Richard Rodriguez

Over many years, people around the world influence by the lifestyle of American. These people come to America in hopes of living in a better life. My parents came here for that exactly same reason because they want my siblings and I to have a better life and education. Do you ever have to make decisions that can change your life? For my families, it was a difficult decision because we have to leave everything behind to start a new life in strange place, name United States of America.

It's really difficult decision for my parents. We were not happy because we have to leave everything behind included our small house, family tradition, culture, and homeland, where we called home for years. My life had been changed since my family immigrated to United States, hopes for a better future and education. My parents said my life in Vietnam was hopeless, because the education was not good, result of disciplines, and hard to be successful. Not many teachers were helpful to students. I spent majority of time and lot of money for school, but learned nothing. Rather teaching students, teachers yelled at students just for a small mistake that he or she wasn’t intend to make. My classes were scheduled for the whole day without break. The same situation happened with my siblings. One day, my parents told me that we will be moving to America. After I heard my parents announced the new, I felt that my life soon will be changed and get a better education.

After spending two generations lived in Vietnam, my family moved to a totally different environment. There is less motorcycle, less screaming in market, less lousy noise from the streets, and less dangerous when you driving a car. It was like a completely different world. ...se they had made a wrong decision. However, a person who does not give up, he or she will learn from the mistake and start over again. On the other hand, there is person who will blame others for something goes wrong. Therefore, we must have a clear mind and take seriously before making any decisions. We must think the best result before making it. In this universe, no one can possibly making all right decisions. There will be a few wrong decisions because we are human. We cannot be perfect. However, the important and matter is that person able to realized the mistake and learn what goes wrong. Everybody will be experienced after making their own decision. The experienced will help us grow up and be mature.
