I woke up in the morning and started picking feathers out of my hair and then out of their hair. The entire room was bathed in feathers. I couldn’t imagine, how one would even begin, to clean this up.
David sat up and said, “Jesus Christ Charlie, what a mess you made.”
We three sat there, looking at the destruction and laughing.
“Let’s get out of here. I’ll handle the unfortunate death of the pillow at the front desk and pay for the cleanup.” David said.
We showered, dressed and got our luggage together. At the door, we checked each other for feathers and then headed out. We needed to get a taxi to take us to the train station. We were headed to Salisbury for two days. Charlie and I waited outside with the luggage for David, who came out laughing.

"Annalisa, could you please stop staring out the window and look at me?"
"No, I don 't think I can, I said and giggled.
"Why can 't you look at me?" He asked leaning into my back and resting his chin on my shoulder.
"You 're entirely too beautiful and if I look at you now, I may not be able to contain myself."
"You have no self-control?"
"Nope, I think I left it in New Jersey."
"Oh, were you exhibiting some type of self-control when we were back in Jersey?"
I giggled again and said, "Probably not. Self-control with you and Charlie is not my strong suit. I 'm very weak when I 'm with you both."
I heard movement and knew Charlie was back.
"I see we still have tickets, and she still has her clothes on."
I turned around and looked at Charlie with mock disdain.
Charlie handed David and me our drinks and sat down across from us.
"Did I miss anything?"
"Mmhmm," I replied and took a sip of my drink.
I watched David grin at Charlie.
"If this guy doesn 't come collect these tickets soon," Charlie said leaning back in his seat.
"Then what, what will you do if he doesn 't come soon?" I said challenging Charlie.
Charlie sat up and glared at me.
"David, switch seats with
"I'm heading out to make an arrest." He replied, his tone carried a slight hint of Incertitude as to the motive of this inquiry.
"Play nice, now." All four heads turned towards the stairway to see their leader descending the stairs. Jamien's eyes gave Shaundi a clear warning, but his smile was playful. "You got the stuff, Pierce?"
Izzy grinned, "I know you did Max. Okay that's enough, oh yes that will do. Be careful please," she said.
“Don’t! You probably have lice and I am not washing everything in this house again. Come on,” she said, grudgingly, dragging me by the wrist. “Let’s at least get you both cleaned up before we continue arguing about what to do.”
"Well I could always take them off for you." He said winking. I just laughed. I was used to this from him.
My lip twitched, "I know how to sound like you. I've done it before, and no one suspects a thing."
“Alright so I have to pocket the bag and bring it back to you,” I clarified. She nodded. “May I be dismissed now?” She gave me another bod of the head and I pivoted on my heel.
I glanced at my two best mates. We all chuckled. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you” I replied.
"Okay Autumn, stay calm, if I need to I will come get you." I say, slight panic in my voice
I flashed them a charming smile and leaned against the bar. “What can I get you ladies? Coffee? Tea? A cab?” It was almost midnight and I was done. Ready to have a few beers of my own, ready to hand over the reins to Fred and make my way to Tuesday.
"What did you just say?" She looked straight into my eyes. Without any smile, of course.
“When are you going to take me home?” I asked. Without opening his eyes he shrugged his shoulders and gestured for me to shut up.
“No, I just fell asleep.” I sit up and he sat next to me. He held out his hand.
I laughed. “I know what you mean. I was just playing with you.” I gave him a 1000788678567 watt smile.
“That was so easy! Did you have fun?” David was teasing me, but I ignored him. I just wanted to relax.
