“Get back in your car!!!” The policeman was yelling at Gerry to tell him that something was not right and he would be safer in his car. As soon as the policeman said “Remain with your family…” he was mauled over by a huge 18-wheeler that was driving out of control down the middle of the street. Gerry floored the gas pedal as he sped to safety, but was instantly halted as an ambulance ran slap into the driver side of the car. As Gerry and his wife, Karin, awoke from the crash, his ears were ringing and all he could hear in the distance was screaming and screeching sirens. He could see people running from something, although he did not know of what the threat was, he just knew that he needed to get his family to safety. It was then Gerry knew If fore say a horror film takes too long to develop then the audience will lose interest, but if the movie is fast-paced it will keep the audience wanting more. World War Z can be a great testament to the characteristic of a horror film. As I watched this film, there was never a moment that made me think “Why is this taking so long?” or say to myself “This is boring.” Throughout the entirety of this film Gerry is always running from the “monster” in this film or trying to protect someone from the so-called monster. There is not just one particular scene that shows the strengths of this characteristic, to see this look at the movie from an overall perspective. Like in the beginning, when Gerry and his family are stuck in traffic, the scene shows the cop telling Gerry to stay in his car and then the cop gets ran over which happens in a matter of four to five seconds. Another great example of the fast pace in this movie is when Gerry witnesses the first man gets thrown out of his car and gets bitten by a zombie, then that zombie runs off and bites someone else. Gerry watched as the man twist and turns as the virus strands go through his veins and he hears in the distance “1..2..3...4..5..6..7..8..9..10..11..12…trains in the station” when he hears the number 12 that man then gets up as a zombie. That showed that the virus strand spreads so fast which really effected the movie overall, In this scene Gerry’s adventure takes him to W.H.O which is a science lab that may have the cure for the virus that has plagued the rest of the world. Gerry’s plane crashes and he wakes up a few miles from the science lab, and as he walks to the lab Gerry passes out from the injuries he received from the plane crash. When Gary wakes up he is accompanied by scientist that he has to convince that he is working for the United Nations. After Gerry convinces them he tells them that he has to get to the Wing B part of the lab which is full of the virus spreading mindless zombies. Why? The cure to save the world is in that Wing. As Gerry is walking through the wing he stays silent as he does not want to attract any unwanted attention, but as soon as he opens the door…it creeks and the race is on. Gerry bolts down the hallway into the lab where the cure was thought to be he locks himself in the lab, and right as he locks the door the scientist that infected all of Wing B slammed into the glass door not breaking it. Gerry looks for through all of the test tubes trying to find the right one, and when he finds it he knows that the only way he is getting out of Wing B is that he has to inject himself with the blood sample. Once Gerry finds the sample he opens the door and lets the scientist zombie come face to face with him. The zombie’s teeth was clicking as he was ready to devour Gerry’s face, but he didn’t and Gerry got
