Abstract: The term “entrepreneur” is derived from the French verb enterprendre which means “to undertake.” The Frenchmen who organised and led military expeditions were referred to as “entrepreneurs.” Around 1700 A.D. the term was used for architects and contractor of public works. Moving forward it came to be associated with risk taking and has stuck with financial risk taking while experimenting/ideating.
