My Day - Original Writing "Brrrringggg brrrrringgg", the phone rings. I'm lying in my bed thinking, "Will someone answer the phoo onn neeepleasssseee!" But after about five minutes I realise my rays of hope that someone else will get up out of their pit and answer that blasted phone, have faded away. So I take a leap into the Artic room, the smell of sleep is now getting up my nose. But I can taste that dog breath when I swallow and the big lumps on my eyes, give me blurred vision. The worst thing is, when I finally am about 3 steps away from the phone, the ringing stops. But really I know in the back of my mind who is ringing all along, MY DaD! This is my dad's daily trick of getting us up in the morning. He starts ringing on his way home from the market, but it would be skilfully timed, so he would be about five minutes away from the house (the time it takes for one of us to get up and actually answer the phone). But he sneaks inside the house and waits until on of us are just a couple of steps away form the phone and then…. he hangs UP!! Then after his childish trick he announces throughout the house "Rise & Shine its Kellogg's Time!" This is his daily, ever not so funny trick. So I would drag myself into my used, ever so tight uniform and then make myself a delious breakfast usually containing, fat-filled bacon and a slice of home made ash! On my way to school I get the flying carpet; in other words the bus. The bus is a in an adventure in itself, as soon as I have chosen my seat, I sit down and the smell of the stale smoke of its past user, stenches my clothes. But my anguish is overcome when I am greeted by my schoolmates with a pile of slabbering! But the worst is James raking me up about how I should buy a John Deere and tell my dad to
about to urinate all over the bus, but they decided it would just be another

Riding the Bus with My Sister: A True Life Journey by Rachel Simon chronicles the year Rachel decided to ride the bus with her sister, Beth. Beth is a spunky and forthright woman with a mild intellectual disability. She builds a community of support through her favored pastime- riding the public buses around town. Rachel and Beth are close in age, but grew distant over time. Rachel agrees to spend a year riding the buses with Beth in an effort to mend their relationship. On their rides, Rachel is introduced to a troupe of bus drivers, who are funny, independent, knowledgeable, compassionate, and wise. As Rachel seeks to know her sister better, she also comes to better understand herself. This is facilitated by interactions with various bus
There are many controversial issues concerning the bus service provided by Buena Vista University. BVU Rides, commonly known as the “Drunk Bus,” receives great reviews from the students using it at Buena Vista. However, members of the Storm Lake community are not as appreciative of this service. It is important, nonetheless, that people learn facts about BVU Rides in order to make an educated judgment.
Students walk past it every day and nothing gets done about it. Our group has noticed these unfavorable aspects of the bus stop and are fighting for the ability to improve the bus stop for all UL students and faculty alike. With the help of several organizations on campus, this improvement to a vital part of the transit system will not be costly to the University. To bus riders an ideal bus stop is one that provides easy access to the bus, is convenient, and safe (Bus Shelters - Project for Public Spaces). The bus stop should provide riders protection from weather, and a feeling of safety and security (Bus Shelters - Project for Public

The anticipation of this day had been building up for some time over that last few months, and now it was upon me at last. I didn’t feel the same excitement I had leading up to this moment, I even kind of grumbled to myself about how I wished the bus was bigger so that I would be more comfortable. We all had our assigned seats, but no one seemed to be where they were supposed to be. The anxiousness of getting to Colorado was causing a great deal of confusion, chaos, and stress. The noise of everyone carrying on and yelling could be compared to the way a screaming crowed sounds at an AC/DC concert.

For example, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has a bus service that students use. The campus itself is very huge compared to NIU. However, they have bus services that goes through the residence halls just like at NIU. The school shares with the city of Champaign as well. The service is called MTD which is the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District. Students can get on any bus with their student ID. University of Illinois has an app that tracks the exact time of the bus, just like NIU has. They have different routes that go well with the students and residents. All of the bus routes are labeled as colors. There are four primary campus routes are Gold, Yellow, Teal and Silver. These routes normally come every 10-15 minutes, and these routes continue throughout the nighttime. MTD has a service called Hopper service where these routes are used when the bus experiences high volume of people. They offer these during peak times of the
All kinds of people ride public transportation. People that are young and old, black and white, men and woman, some well dressed some not. I can guess that some would rather ride the bus than ask for a ride from friends, while others may no longer have the ability to drive themselves. I personally will ride the bus again. I liked the comradery and the idea that if I told Bill my name he most likely, would call me by my name the next time I rode.
One of the most memorable bus experiences in my life happened when I was in fifth grade. The final bell at school had rung, so I sprinted out to the bus with a few of my friends to save seats since our bus was always crowded. After we flung our backpacks into the four back seats, we ran back inside the school to buy some Mountain Dew from the pop machine in the cafeteria. After jamming our quarters into the machine and snatching the cans out of the bin, we sprinted back outside to make sure we did not miss the bus. It was still there, in all its yellow glory, so we hurried through the doors and onto the bus.
