Introduction
I. Did you know that 2014 was one of the hottest years on record? It shattered the previous record which was set in 2010. Were you aware that there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere today than at any time in our recent and distant past? One of our most well-known national parks, The Montana Glacier National Park, once known for majestic glaciers and other icy wonders, has only 25 glaciers left!
II. The repercussions of the global warming issue are profound and should be addressed during our generation. Our children will suffer the consequences of our inaction if nothing is done.
III. Global warming is an issue that affects, not just Americans, but all living things on this planet. The effects of global warming are felt by all and can be seen with the melting of the polar caps and glaciers and rising temperatures. In fact, scientific evidence shows that the planet’s

Rising Sea levels which are the aftereffect of the melting of the polar caps and glaciers in the North and South Poles. In fact, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, since 1870, global sea levels have risen by about 7.5 inches and will continue to rise as more ice caps melt.
c. All of this threatens the earth’s various fragile ecosystems, as well as, people all over the world.
III. What can be done to combat global warming?
a. Each person can do little things like using lower power light bulbs, conserving water by bathing less and showering instead, and recycling.
b. Car manufacturers can produce cars that are less reliant on gasoline and use electrical power instead. Gasoline combustion produces carbon dioxide emissions that harm the atmosphere.
c. Governments the world over can invest in greener sources of power such as wind turbines, more widespread use of solar panels to harness the energy of the sun, or hydroelectric power which is a relatively new method of harnessing energy from the currents produced by waves.
Conclusion

Global warming is a big problem for us, and there are things that we have done to cause it.
Global warming is amongst the most frightening environmental issues the modern world faces; it’s adverse effects have become significantly more prevalent since the dawn of the 20th century taking the forms of powerful
The subject of Global Warming is not going away regardless where you stand on the issue. Despite the almost endless warnings of the dangers of smoking, people are still starting to and continue to smoking even though the literature is abundant of the likely consequences to their health. Likewise, there are those that believe Global Warming is true yet they still continue to consume at the same rate even though they believe the increased temperature will cause harm to the planet. The alarm has been set and now is the time to thoroughly review all the scholarly literature to decide where you stand on this powerful issue.
Before a person can tackle handling the concept of global warming, they first must analyze the true definition of what it is. Climate change periodic modification of Earth’s climate brought about as a result of changes in the atmosphere as well as interactions between the atmosphere and various other geologic, chemical, biological, and geographic factors within the Earth 's system. (britannica) Since all 196 countries in the world have to share the oxygen and carbon dioxide, we all should take a part in the responsibility of taking care of earth. On November 6, 2012 President Obama said that we want our children to live in a world without the destructive power of a warming planet. The biggest challenge we face is not only saving a warming
...d drought, crop failure, and extreme weather - all catastrophic. The impacts are already happening around us and are likely to impact fresh water resources, food, coastal systems, and natural ecosystems. Animals and plants have already begun to change the way they live, yet vulnerable, and if no action is taken may leave us horrified results. Yes we need to continue to hold industries accountable for their greenhouse emissions slowing down global warming but we cannot stand on this decision alone. Its time to prepare by tackling climate change now giving us time to make decisions that will have a long-lasting affect making a better world for all.
Buildings and houses in coastal areas that are low can be flooded from the sea level rising and even submerged..The sea level rising can cause harm to the environment in coastal wetlands including the habitat. Human caused global warming has caused 3 inches of sea level rise since 1992 and some places it has even been 9 inches. Two third of the sea level rising is caused by expansion of warmer ocean waters and only one third comes from the glaciers and ice sheets melting. As you can see in the chart right here, you can see that the annual global air temperature increasing has resulted in the trend of sea level rising. In 1960, the temperature was low and so there was no sea level change but as the years go on you can see that the temperature increases, and so does the seal level. By 2010, it has almost reached
II. Consumerism is destroying our planet through its excess, but with the help of reducing we may be able to slow the negative change happening in our environment.
B. Global warming is better defined as the increase in the average temperature of the
Hello everyone! Today I will be speaking about global warming but before I begin, how many of you believe that global warming exists and that the human population is the primary cause of global warming? I ask this because there are people who believe that global warming does not exist or that it’s “a hoax created by China”. But that’s not true and global warming is in fact one of the biggest problems facing the world today. There is a significant amount of negative effects for the environment and for all living beings due to global warming. And maybe some of you are not be interested in global warming, but the truth is, global warming is a big part of our world and it affects each and every one of us.
Background and Audience Relevance: There are always conversations about our planet. We see our earths glaciers melting, weather temperature rising, and pollution affecting our resources. But for some reasons we tend to look away. We should be more aware of this potential event and I’m here to inform everyone about what actually is global warming and the effects of it.
One of the major effects of global warming is the rise of sea level due to thermal expansion of the ocean, in addition to the melting of land ice. Now there are dozens of land areas that sit well below sea level and the majority of those land areas are very well populated. At least 40 percent of the world 's population lives within 62 miles of the ocean, putting millions of lives and billions of dollars ' worth of property and infrastructure at risk. (Juliet Christian-Smith, 2011) This means if the sea level rises to the projected level of 25 meters (82 feet) half of the world will retreat back to the ocean. (Rohrer, 2007) Also rising sea levels means higher tides and storm surges riding on ever-higher seas which are more dangerous to people and coastal inf...
Our planet has managed to survive and thrive for about 4.54 billion years. In the last 2 million years we have caused enough damage and destruction to make our world “broken” beyond repair. We will not be able to get back the world we once had. The reason behind this is global warming, specifically, the increase of the global temperature due to the burning of fossil fuels and the release of greenhouse gas emissions into our atmosphere. If we do not make the issue of global warming a priority in today`s society, our entire way of life will be at risk. There are many reasons why so many people believe global warming should be a concern. Thoroughly examined points include: scientific predictions, rising temperatures, human causes, drastic climate changes and animal adaptations. Though there are several points arguing how global warming should not be a concern, the reality of the matter is that it needs to be taken into consideration on a global scale before it is too late, as to do nothing would have devastating implications on humankind.
One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”). Everyone should be knowledgeable about global warming and the dangers that it brings to our planet. This essay will examine
The hottest recorded temperature was in 2005 which matched the temperature in 1998. Twice in the last decade we've had the hottest temperature on average ever recorded throughout history. Coincidence. I think not. The snows of the Kilimanjaro have basically vanished and in a couple decades Glacier National park is going to need a new name because by 2030 there will be no glaciers left in the whole park. The great Greenland icecaps are melting at an alarming pace, and sliding into the sea. Your right, who cares it's not like its happening near us. But by 2100 all our coastal states will look like Venice including ours. You won?t be alive but your children and grandchildren will. The sea level is expected to rise up to 23 inches in the next decade. There has been a 100 percent increase in intensity and duration of hurricanes and tropical storms since 1970 according to a 2005 MIT study. How much more evidence do we need before someone does something about this? For anyone who cares at all about the future, the gradual transformation of our earth is turning into a human-furnace that makes terrorism look like a game of monopoly. Think I'm kidding? By 2050, 15-37% of all plant and animal species could be extinct. Meaning it will be harder for plants to produce photosynthesis. No big right? Wrong. Without photosynthesis, oxygen can?t be made. Most of us in this room will be in our late 60?s by then with children and grandchildren. What does that mean for them? The air will be harder to breath and the temperature of earth will have increased by 2 degrees Fahrenheit. By 2050 up to 38% of water will be unable to hold underwater species because of rising temperature.
Global warming is one of the most serious issues that the human species face today, yet the majority of the population does not pay attention to it. People are not aware of the dangers and do not care about it much because the main effects will affect the next generation and not themselves. Global warming is happening and it is the reason for changing weather and weather extremes such as earthquakes, floods and wildfires. Global warming is caused by societies lifestyle and these lifestyles destroy the environment and affect the whole world. The use of cars, trains, planes, as well as wasting energy for people’s entertainment has a price; this price is that society is in danger.
