Cultural Diversity In the world today, culture and lifestyles vary to the extreme. Many people with different cultures live in the United States and all across the world. In my opinion, I think that a lot of people think that they are close-minded because we do not believe in other religions or cultures, because of what we believe in or how we were raised. In a lot of cases, what the parent believes in or values has a huge impact on what the child or children will believe in. When I think of culture, I think that it means the beliefs, ideas, traditions, and behaviors that people portray that are passed down from one generation to the next. When it comes to cultural diversity, it means people from different races, nationalities, religions, and sexes coming together to form a specific community, group or organization. I am going to discuss three activities for parents and students at my school that will honor cultural diversity.

This will help them know that people of all genders, ethnicity, and appearances can be positive role models to them. In addition to doing these activities, the teachers can also have a multicultural classroom by having posters that depict different cultural groups, have students mark on a map where their ancestors came from, and have signs in different languages. According to the League website “When you respect diversity in the classroom, you will be able to create an atmosphere in which participants can engage in active, collaborative learning and substantive discussions” (League, 2006). This will make the students feel more comfortable being in the classroom, and also help them learn about the different cultures around them. When the teacher makes the students have a constant exposure to positive people it will emphasize respect in the classroom. This will let the students know the countless ways that they can impact
