Understanding Community Resources
To understand a diverse group, there must be an understanding what resources are available to that group within the community. It is important to build connections with organizations that support the diverse population. These organizations are also a great educational source that may provide training and outreach services. They are an excellent referral source for those we are severing. Participating in collaborative outreach efforts, such as community health fairs and fundraising opportunities, is an opportunity for an organization to become more visible to the public. Connections may also be built at these events that can result in partnerships (Hart et al., 2009).
