Computer application in language learning have become vital and critically important for the language learners nowadays. This situation is due to the emergence and practicality of the software and unlimited sources on the net that somehow help the learners to learn in a way that is more effective and efficient. Moreover in Malaysia the government through the ministry of education have put the importance for the students and educators in this country to master the knowledge of computing technology and make use the availability of it to the maximum level in order to help them in obtaining and achieving more success in the learning process.
Computer Assisted Language learning also known as CALL has undergone three phases over the last 30 years. The beginning of CALL is marked by the phase of behavioristic CALL, later on CALL developed into communicative CALL and finally CALL become interactive CALL. In the behavioristic phase, the behavioristic CALL is more on individual or structural form and the language learners can work on the language learning within their individual pace and not involving other learners. While communicative CALL is more about the learners and the tutors where the learners will be interacting with the tutors during the learning process. In the interactive phase of CALL the learners will be interacting among the language learners and they are no longer the only receiver in the language learning process as they are also able to be the provider of the language learning using specific software and application.Warschauer, M. For the new generation of learners the learning process can occurred anywhere they wanted it to be. And the learning process also must not only involving the tutors or teachers to be with them having eye an eye contact during learning process, this is because the learning process nowadays can be done without the tutors or teachers being right in front of the learners. All they need is a digital devices that can connect them to the net and the learning process can be done through the digital world. However this doesn’t meant that teachers are no longer needed in learning process. Rather they can now try to come up with a more creative ways in having classes and should be more interactive with the learners.
A group of 29 students were selected to conduct the study. Students were chosen according to their willingness to participate in study to share their experiences and thoughts of having teachers of like background as they. Of out of six class periods only one class period was chosen. The students selected were interviewed and were given a survey to complete. In this class there are high, middle, and low student performers. This is beneficial for the study being conducted collecting the data from the different intelligence levels of the students obtaining an extensive variety of the perspectives of every student. These students can explore new ways of learning with the integration of technology into the education system, because it is clear that the generation of students, “Concentrate in a different way when [they] are watching or listening or even reading a book,” proving education to not be the problem. Technology is one of the primary ways that the generation absorbs information. Learning for younger children, especially, is something that they can propel themselves into, “As long as there is a payoff, not what is won or achieved in statistical terms, but what is won and achieved inside, in a sense of self-confidence and competence;” they want a sense of self-satisfaction (67). This satisfaction is achieved by gaining knowledge in the subject of interest. Although a subject of interest will allow the topic to be easier to learn, this topic must be able to change or combined to create something to keep its significance.
Within this paper we will take a brief look at the Language Acquisition Principles and how they work on the behalf of ELL students. We will see how these principles can be applied within our own learning environment. There is much information from Walqui article that gives a brief overview of ELL students and how things looked in the past for these students. Now that times has change we will see how educators can make the requirements for ELL students better and more effective for teacher and students. Hopefully, as we look at ways of changing learning for our ELL students we must remember that every student learns differently. Even if you follow the principles from 1-8 we must keep in mind that everyone is unique and process things within their own time table.
It can be seen from the above definitions that there is no consensus among researchers about specific definitions of language learning strategies with regard to the actual way that learners act or think during language learning processes. Given that there is no unifying concept or theory of language learning strategies, some scholars (e.g., Rubin, 1975; Stern, 1975) proposed that we should study and observe what successful language learners do while learning a language, in order to learn and understand what language learning strategies are. Accordingly, a number of characteristics of successful language learners were identified (Rubin, 1975; Stern, 1975).
Imagine coming into a new country with no knowledge of their language. Now, imagine being a young child having to come in a new country with no knowledge of their language and having to go to school with the native students. That student who is in a new country and school will feel left out and frustrated. They are around new customs and people, the teaching that they were once used to has change and the teachers, they might speak fast and the student is even more confused and they might want to give up. This is where the school board comes into place and help students that is new to their county learn English with the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages(TESOL) program; to include the English Language Learners(ELL) students in the curriculum and have them interact with other students.

The last, the future of the new technology’s existence in the educational system will not be optimistic. The authors discussed the new technology change and update fast, that could cause the negative effect to students and teachers. They still prefer to use the “old technology” in learning and teaching . I agree with their concept because China had a big problem about using technology, and I studied in China several years. In China, the understanding of the new technology is so ignorant because of the poor education, shortage of technology. In education, the teachers and students do not understand how to use the computer technology to improve their teaching and learning rapidly. In short, understanding of the new technology and application skills are more important to adjust educational system in developing countries.

Thanks to the ubiquitous nature of the internet in recent years, the world has become more connected each day. The increased use of the web on a daily basis has opened the doors for teachers to give their students the opportunity to connect with people around the globe without leaving their home country. The internet allows teachers to link their students with students of other cultures in distant countries by utilizing online communication tools. This kind of teaching method is called telecollaboration and has been employed using different formats in classes all over the globe with the aim of developing intercultural competence and foreign language skills, such as e-tandem, virtual online exchanges, collaborative online international learning, and many others. According to Helm (2009), telecollaboration is “an approach to intercultural learning that uses internet technology as a tool to facilitate intercultural communication between classes of learners in different countries.” Numerous studies have shown that telecollaboration has been one successful teaching method to assist foreign language learners in developing this combination of language skills and intercultural awareness (Belz, 2003; Chun, 2011;
Language learning is no longer limited in the certain classroom. Students could learn the language at any time and any places. For instance, students can memorize vocabulary when they are waiting for the bus to come, they can finish their online homework before their practice begins, and they can also review what they learn today before going to sleep just simply by taking out their phones. Mobile assisted language learning enables students to save “the time fragment” to learn a foreign language, instead of only learning in the classroom during a certain time of the day. Moreover, by using mobile assisted language learning, speaking, listening become more accessible to students. In a traditional classroom, language learning focuses more on vocabulary and grammar, which means students can practice reading and writing a lot, but they do not proactive enough listening and speaking. However, in the real world, speaking and listening are much more important than reading and writing, because people need to use language to communicate with each other. With mobile assisted language learning, it would be easy to practice speaking and listening even if there is no teacher around. Since the majority of mobile devices are internet based, there are plenty of listening and speaking resources online to help students experience the authentic language environment. The teachers design and interaction meets my level of understanding and when I’m not sure of an assignment, I simply contact them via e-mail. I feel the author did a great job in addressing his chosen topic-showing both the strengths and the weaknesses of his study. His final suggestion to teachers is to, “fully reconsider their students’ specific needs and redesign their online courses and learning activities to involve their students…help them benefit from the online learning environment.”

Computer technology is one the most innovative advancements in modern-day education. Technology has made its way into the world of teaching practice and principle by expanding the way we approach instruction in the classroom.
