There are more deaths by abortions than war casualties together, now that’s something to think about (Abortion Statistics). Abortion is a controversial topic, with many opinions and valid points. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a pregnancy by surgical or medical means (Vaughn 161). I believe that it is wrong to abort a baby because it is alive. Some believe a baby is alive at conception and others after several weeks. Either way it is not right. Life is regarded as precious and we should cherish it.
Abortion touches on our deepest values and basic beliefs. Abortion shows the clashes between two conflicting worldviews. The humanistic says, "Man is the highest standard there is. You don't answer to anyone, so do whatever you want," while the Christian view says, "We answer to God, and he has commanded us not to murder. We must always submit our desires and preferences to the authority of his word" (Abortion: A Biblical View).
As a Christian, I stand strong against abortion due to views and supported points of religious aspects. The bible states that "Thou shalt not murder" (Exodus 20:13), giving supporting detail that one, the woman, should not kill the fetus inside her or it is considered murder. In Psalm 127:3 it is said "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him” supporting that a baby is something precious and that you should keep the baby because it is a blessing to have conceived it to begin with. Also, in Isaiah 44:2 it states "This is what the Lord says- he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you" telling us that you made the baby and it is your job to have and care for it. It is you that needs to help raise the baby as they grow through the years.
Now, humanisti...

... like so.
In conclusion, not everything is consistent and others not always supported but at the end of the day people getting an abortion are going to do what they want no matter the ethical or religious mores. I agree on the conservatives and liberals sharing the common premise that it is wrong to kill an innocent person and therefore agree on the immorality of murder. I hope that these teenagers and woman are educated about their choice to have an abortion because they are the ones that have to live with it for the rest of their lives.

Essay on Abortion is a Crime that Should be Outlawed

- Approximately 42 million abortions occur a year worldwide. That is 3,500,000 a month, 115,000 a day, 4,800 per hour, and 80 per minute. About each second a baby dies due to abortion. Do these helpless babies really deserve being murdered without having a chance to live as a human being. Abortion is wrong. If a mother killed her baby after it was born, she would probably be charged of murder. What makes people consider that the baby’s life worthless and next important. Essay on Laws of Abortion: Legalized Abortion

- Laws of abortion have changed over the years. Many people argue about abortion, putting its legal status in a bind. Back in the early days, the 1800’s, the thought of abortion was absurd and it was illegal. People that support abortion are known as “pro-choice”, and believe that women have the right to decide if they want to terminate their pregnancy or not. Americans will have a brighter future if they encourage the legalization of abortion. Essay about Is Abortion The Termination Of A Pregnancy?

- Is the law in qld sufficient in protecting women who are wanting to abort. It is not thoroughly effective as the law underpins abortions as unlawful and section 226 of the criminal code can hold doctors liable. Has to be evaluated in the case where unwanted pregnancies occur and are forced to go ahead as a result of denial of an abortion. This is how the law is inconsistent and doesn 't effectively protect women looking to abort as they can be criminally prosecuted for accessing abortion. However, most states and territories have re-examined and reformed their laws, starting with South Australia in 1969, leaving Queensland with some of the most restrictive abortion legislation in the country...   [tags: Abortion, Abortion law, Pregnancy, Crime]

Essay on Abortion Reduces Crime

- Abstract                No one is certain why crime rates have plummeted in the United States over the last decade. But that fact has not prevented politicians from taking credit for the downturn. The newest theory about why crime is down, however, put forward in a report by two highly regarded economists, is drawing both outrage and intense debate. The economists claim that abortion may prevent the birth of unwanted children, who would have received very little attention from their parents and therefore would have higher probability of committing crime....   [tags: Illustration Essay, Persuasive Essays]

Abortion is Not the Reason for Lower Crime Rates Essay

- What is wrong with the ivory tower. The appointment of Peter ("Death to Disabled Newborns!") Singer to the bioethics faculty at Princeton University has generated considerable controversy. Recently, University of Chicago economist Steven Levitt and Stanford University Law School professor John Donohue III created a furor with their research paper "Legalized Abortion and Crime." The authors contend that legalized abortion fueled the drop in crime in the 1990s because a new subclass of humanity they've identified- "women most at risk to have children who would engage in criminal activity"-have higher abortion rates, thus preemptively executing the would-be felons....   [tags: Argumentative Persuasive Topics]
