From Stranger to Stranger

Late. I was late, very late. My flight was at 9:30, and it was 9:15, and I have not left my house yet. I frantically threw everything into my car, not caring much about the content, and drove away as quickly as I could. I arrived at the airport at 9:25, only to find out my flight had been delayed and pushed to 11:00. So, to pass the time I tried to organize my bags a bit more. I was always the type of person to freak out before trips. I always manage to buy just about everything that says, “Travel Sized” or, “Convenient for travel!” on them. In my mind, you can never be too prepared, because you never know what is coming. As I was trying to organize, someone’s child came by me, and knocked my bag off of my lap. What astounded me even more, was that the child’s parent did not even seem to care. Frustrated, I began to pick up my belongings and shove them back into my bag. Suddenly, I noticed a stranger helping me collect my stuff.
“Kids, huh?” he asked me.
“Yeah.” I mumbled back, I have never been too great with small talk, and tend to have sort of an awkward disposition. After everything was back in my bag he asked, “So, where you headed?”.
“Um, Vancouver. W-What about you?” for some reason his eyes lit up, as if I had just told him I was taking a flight to visit Jesus.
“Washington, what are you headed to Vancouver for?”
“Visiting family, what are you headed to Washington for?”
That was weird, he did not look like he was going on a business trip. He looked more like he was going to a music festival. He had two bags with him. One was a tote, and the other was a suitcase. Weird. He looked around sort of nervously, and then leaned in and whispered, “Could you do me ...

...dn’t come? I would be stuck with this suitcase. I don’t even know what is in it, and to be honest, I don’t really want to know. I decided to go walk around, and see if anybody might recognize this stupid suitcase. The more I walked around the more frustrated I got. I was almost ready to leave when a man walked up to me, pointed to the suitcase, and said, “That’s mine.” He was tall and was wearing a suit and a bowler hat. He looked a bit like George Clooney, much more professional looking than the last guy.
“Oh, okay. Good, here you go.” I said to him as I handed it over.
“Thank you. I sure hope it didn’t give you any trouble.” he stated.
“Trouble?” I asked, a bit confused. What kind of trouble could a suitcase give me? What is inside of it? Now I actually wanted to know.
“Good day to you…” he then tipped his hat toward me, winked, and walked off.

- Literature has been an art form that spans from novels to poetry, and prose. It is no stranger, how influential literature is to our society, with many films, plays, and other creative outlets being inspired by their written counter parts. Literature is an outlet, an art form that allows writers to put their thoughts into print form for other to read. However, another form of writing, which has been around for quite awhile, but is just now being noticed, is taking the writing field by storm. Established literature, and even television shows, and movies, are inspiring writers to crate prose based on established characters....   [tags: Writing, Writer, Literature, Creative writing]

There's a Stranger in my Words Essay

- There's a Stranger in my Words As I sit here and stare at the Mac I wonder who sits at my back. If they knew what I write Would they curse me and bite Or start up some verbal attack. Well, as I walk through the swirling, smoke filled sky of the Hagg-Sauer doorway, squeezing my eyes shut against the reflected sunlight, I thought about how I would approach this project. How to say what I need to say, without saying it in a way that has been said a thousand times, in a million-million words. The voices in my head struggle to escape to the paper, but there's this thing in between my thoughts and your mind....   [tags: Creative Writing Essays]

Essay Stranger in a Strange Land

- The dark, black sky was covered with a million bright shining stars. The moon shimmered above a small town in the suburbs of London. The gentle wind swept past the bare trees and danced with the leaves below it, creating a colourful array of orange, yellow, red and brown. Across the street, a light was on in a small house where a tall, dark haired woman stood, talking to her two children Nicola and Erin. While she was tucking them in Erin asked, “Mummy, will you tell us a story please?” “I’m sorry but its time to go to sleep now,” she said....   [tags: Creative Writing Examples]

Stranger Essay

- There was something about her when she came walking into the parking lot that made the whole place settle down when they saw her standing outside the Dairy Queen. It wasn’t so much the fact she was standing there with a brown, leather jacket zipped all the way up with some ragged blue jeans torn slightly at the near or the dirty, blue converse on her feet that looked like they’d had a tuff run. It also wasn’t the red hair combed back into a pony-tail with absolutely no grease or even the slightest hint of hair spray, or even the dark sunglasses her eyes hid behind, but you could tell they were glaring back at you like a rebel that matched the demeanor of her hand-on-hip stance....   [tags: Creative Writing Essays]

- The sweltering heat from the blazing sun lit up the grass verges in the park and bounced off the sparkling water in the lake. Creative Writing: Death of Me Essay example

- ‘He’ll be the death of you.’ It wasn’t a remark that Jounouchi Hideyasu was a stranger to. Oh, it wasn’t one that was said to him; mostly, it was said to Hase Ryouji, the leader of Team Raid Wild. Hase-chan’s team – who were extremely loyal to their leader; a bond forged, quite literally, in blood, fights and fire – were wary of him and his intentions towards their leader, and their worry was a one well-founded; after all, Hideyasu made it no secret that he was only upholding the alliance for as long as it was beneficial to him, Hase-chan’s safety and well-being be damned....   [tags: personal narrative]
