The cost of the production process is an important consideration, it not only affects the final price, but also affect people and their audience acceptance. With the development of the industrial revolution, more and more products into the homes of ordinary people. For mass production of products, cost control becomes more and more important. Meanwhile, technology development and innovation become more and more attention as well. Every technological revolution will increase the production capacity level and the cost will be cheaper. The most famous example of mass production and cost reduction is the Ford Motor Company. The Ford Motor Company as the birthplace and the first application of assembly line brought a new production revolution.

Total cost minimization is an important part that should be considered for each invention. In other words, if new inventions want to be speeded and Large-scale used, they should have a low cost.
Before the assembly line was invented, the middle and lower people cannot afford high-tech product from their meager salaries, which is tantamount to drop in the bucket. Especially in the automotive products, they were mainly the rich toys when they were invented and only a few people can enjoy them. However, in the early 20th century, Henry Ford with personal preferences and ambitions tried to get more people to use cars and enjoy the convenience brought by car. Therefore, the assembly line was born. This is a modern, efficient system of production which is shifted from a previously decentralized and non-standardized production processes. In the production, the specialization of assembly line reduce the demand of skilled worker and many low-skilled workers are able to get a simple training and participate in production. All in all, rapid industrial development benefit from the invention of assembly line. The improvement of production efficiency also greatly reduce the production cost and brought tangible benefits to us. Each industrial revolution has epoch-making significance. With the increasing population, the total cost minimization is becoming increasingly necessary. For engineers, the invention of new technology is not just as the riche’s toys. Spreading new technology to the community and letting everyone can use it are the most important. The benefits of total cost minimization will be realized and constantly prove.
