Considering the Atlas corporate card programs, we found that cards were divided between two suppliers and were not disseminated to all travelers. Additionally, the contract with one of those suppliers was quite old and in need of renegotiation. As card programs have changed over the years of this agreement, it was the perfect time to revamp our thinking as to how the program should work and how we could make it easier for our employees to use. With that in mind, we put together a team including representatives from procurement, finance, audit services, and information technology. The team formulated objectives for the project which included securing higher rebates on dollars spent, leveraging card spend for improved travel discounts, reinventing expense reimbursement efficiencies, reducing expense report fraud and identifying travel program inefficiencies. In addition, we were exploring the possibilities of credit card rewards as an incentive for employees who embrace the program.
Initially, the project was to only include North America but we decided a consolidated global card program was what the company needed. AMETEK will pay US Bank directly for card charges included on approved expense reports. You will not need to get reimbursed and then make a payment to US Bank. Once you submit your expense report and it is approved, AMETEK will directly pay US Bank for the card charges included on that expense report, and you will only receive reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses, not charged to your US Bank Visa card. Since AMETEK will be paying the corporate card directly based on approved business expenses, it will be mandatory that expense reports be submitted in a timely manner to make sure no late payment fees are incurred. There will be no employee credit checks associated with obtaining a corporate card.
