The Controversies Around Human Cloning

In today’s world, the human society is rapidly evolving and changing. One of these changes is the advancements in technology. This opens the door to a lot of opportunities for scientists, one of these opportunities has led to the possibility of human cloning. A clone is the result of an asexual reproduction of a molecule, cell, embryo, or organism. Human cloning is basically making a genetically identical copy of the human D.N.A. (de-oxy-ribo-nuclear-acid), for example identical twins can be considered as natural clones. To clone a human being there are various steps involved such as , “an egg is taken from a women’s reproductive system and then its nucleus is removed from the part which contains her D.N.A, then a cell is taken from the body of a human adult ( such as a surrogate) who is to be cloned , it’s from this cell they will make a new human being and once they have selected a cell , the scientist will take its D.N.A and insert it back into the empty egg. After that they will have to stimulate the egg in order for it to grow by the usage of an electric shock or by adding chemicals (this method is commonly used for animals). This process should transform the adult cell into the very first cell of life , the new embryo then will be grown in a petri dish for a few days next its implanted back into the women’s womb where it will be grown into a human being , this human would be a clone ( theory of a clone )”, Kate Roberts (2012, December). The process of human cloning is quite complicated, even if a human clone is to be created it doesn’t mean it will be an exact copy of the original, “we’re not merely the kind of automatic read out of our genes, we should think of our genome like a kind of diary but a diary that h...
