Solar panels are the future of an alternative power source. They are very beneficial to Canadians. First of all, solar panels are completely environmentally friendly. Solar energy is a renewable resource and creates zero emission when generated. Also Canadians will save a great amount of money with having solar panels. It’s unlimited and free power from the beautiful sun. Finally solar panels can be used to power almost everything from your home to a whole city.
Today fossil fuels give off a lot of dangerous, harmful greenhouse gases. Solar panels are a great method to earn electricity without damaging the environment. Solar panels are groups of solar cells constructed together to form a large panel. The solar cells convert light energy from the sun into useable electricity. This process creates no emission of harmful greenhouse gases that damages our beautiful earth. Now solar energy is a renewable resource for energy. The sun won’t burn out until the next five billion years. Therefore it’s not a concern at the current moment. However the fossil fuels we use will run out eventually. According to Eco Info in 2009, at the rate we are using fossil fuels at; we have an estimate of 46 years of oil, 63 years of natural gas and 119 years of coal. However if every Canadian home and every home across the world had solar panels they wouldn’t need to use fossil fuels to power their homes. Everyday solar panel technology is becoming much more efficient. “Every minute the sun bathes the Earth in as much energy as the world consumes in an entire year.” — (US Department of Energy web site, 2010). Now by harnessing this amount of energy the worldwide energy crisis will be solved. Everyone will have more than enough power than they`ll need. ...

The sun has been a major aspect of life since the beginning of time. People used many other forms of energy before electricity was discovered. There has been a debate over energy resources for years. Many people are worried about what current energy resources may be doing to the environment. Oil spills and nuclear power plant mishaps have only been a few accidents that have had a big impact on the environment and the people who inhabit it. There are plenty of energy sources that do not harm the environment and are still able to get the job done. Solar energy is one energy alternative that will insure the betterment of the country and, at the same time, protect the natural environment.
Did you ever think about where your drinking water comes from? The water that we drink was initially sea water that has undergone a scientific process called desalination. Desalination is a chemical process in which natural compounds are separated from water, making the water clean and drinkable. Traditionally, sea water is propelled through hydraulic pumps which create a flow to separate the water from the sea salt. Hydraulic pumps require certain chemicals that are harmful to humans and these chemicals sometimes are cross-contaminated in the drinking water being produced. Personally, I don’t want to drink chemicals that are threatening to my life and that cause harm to the environment. Many people would be uncomfortable if they knew what chemicals their drinking water may contain, especially if their children also consume it. The major drinking water producers should rely on solar energy to desalinate water which is a newer, cleaner, and safer alternative energy source.
“The most important environmental issue is one that is rarely mentioned, and that is the lack of a conservation ethic in our culture” – Gaylord Nelson. Energy has become an extremely hot topic over the last couple of years, with arguments for our energy worries ranging from environmental to political to economical or financial problems. The variety of energy sources available for Ontarians has been a positive outcome for citizens, but the consequences of using some of these sources has not been. The situation, although severely thought through, has been the root of inflamed quarrel among people. With approximately thirteen million citizens living in Ontario, the future of the environment and sustainable energy source is questioned. While there are many different types of energy sources that Ontarians can get their power from, the Premiere of Ontario should focus on renewable energy for the sake of future generations, the economy and the province. The majority if not all Ontarians utilized energy sources originate from; nuclear power plants, hydro power plants, and renewable energy sources.

Energy is a daily necessity we take advantage of without fully understanding the consequences of creating it. The electrical energy that we use as consumers comes from power plants that then convert other types of energy to electricity. The most common way this is done is from burning fossil fuels. The only benefits to this method is the low cost and the growing demand for oil, natural gas heating, and other products refined from fossil fuels. The repercussions of this cheap practice is the environmental and physical harm caused by the fumes and other byproducts of using fossil fuels. One main set back of this method is that people may not continue using it forever. Fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources that have come from millions or years

I will also present the environmental benefits that come with using solar power over other and more harmful forms of energy.

Fossil fuel emissions are the main cause of global warming. We release over twenty billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year, which increases the amount of heat trapped by the greenhouse effect, thereby contributing to global warming. The amount of fossil fuel remaining is limited. This will cause job losses in the fossil fuel industry. On the other hand, the United States has advanced technologies such as solar panels that can replace fossil fuel, which will cause the amount of green jo...
The world that we live into today affords us the expectation that the flip a switch will turn the lights on. As populations increase and developing nations undergo dramatic economic growth, this energy demand will only continue to grow. The International Energy Agency (IEA) believes that “the world’s energy needs could be 50% higher in 2030 than they are today” (ElBaradei). Given this projected growth, it is necessary for world leaders must take action to secure the energy supply. Meaning that world leaders need to start seriously considering an alternative to non-renewable energy sources. “In 2012, the United States generated about 4,054 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. About 68% of the electricity generated was from fossil fuel (coal, natural gas, and petroleum), with 37% attributed from coal” (U.S. Energy Information Administration). The fossil fuels that are used to supply over half of our country’s energy are in finite supply and are increasing in price to astronomical heights.
Using fossil fuels such as coal and oil is inefficient, dangerous, and otherwise a process that is known to eventually fail as a long lasting energy source. Yet, there is hope for the future of energy, this new hope has many shapes and forms, but requires a chance to be fully implemented in our everyday life. Such energy sources like solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and hydro power are the key to our future. These energy sources are proven to be long lasting, safe, more reliable, and the next innovation. In short, all Americans should switch to renewable energy, resulting in a safer and more efficient world.
