Contentment is defined as the acknowledgement of reaching to a certain degree of satisfaction. It can also be described as acquiring a certain level of capacity to someone 's needs. The level of capacity reached may also be sought after, expected, desired, or simply predetermined as the level in which provides contentment. Contentment may be considered as synonymous with happiness but is more basic or prior to happiness that can be derived from outer achievement or self improvement. Contentment is basically a way of accepting one 's life being satisfied or grateful with it. It may even be argued that an attitude towards a specific situation could lead to more positive outcomes as a result of the relaxation. Another definition of contentment from a biblical perspective is: “An internal satisfaction which does not demand changes in external circumstances. ” Rather, in some more mystical sense, contentment can be taken as an absolute innate state before any intellectual judgment about particular situations in life is attained. Life of little children are generally seen more satisfied and happy until their own intellectual powers or their ability to judge good from bad is truly acquired. Having said that later on they begin to develop a sense of less or more through loosing or gaining from their personal experience in life. Given the complex nature of a human being and the lack of self catharsis or a true system of self-actualization, the level of satisfaction attained through one 's full potential may vary due to a haphazard drive to fulfill the goals. A famous arab proverb dictates contentment as "The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least. "
