Concussions is a serious problem within every level of the game from the little league up to the professional level. Every season on every level of the game a serious collision or even a simple collision caused a concussion.The Center for Disease control reported that concussions in football are an epidemic in the U.S (CBS News). In order for the the center for disease control to come out and report that concussions in football are an epidemic the concussions within the game has to be a serious problem that must be prevented. Not just the NFL, concussions are suffered on every level of the game and the effects it has is just detrimental to their life. Great players and icons of football even questioned the game after realizing how dangerous the game was and how it could have affected their lives.Hall of Fame coach and player Mike Ditka loved the game and his whole life was revolved around the game but he won 't let his son play the game because he believe the risk is worst than the award(Martin). That risk Mike Ditka speak of is the effects a potential brain injury could have on a human´s life. Obviously for a Hall of Fame player and coach to feel that way about the game he love has to make a powerful statement about the risk of the game.The untold truth about the sport is ridiculous. It has impacted so many people opinion about the trust and safety of football. Four time super bowl champion and future hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady father spoke on about how he feels about the untold truth (Schwarz). He basically stated that if he knew what he know now about the possible outcomes of letting his son play football he would have not let Tom Brady participate in the sport. It should be no surprise that the knowledge of the effects a potential brain injury could have on a person changes people feelings about the sport. The untold truth is just very dangerous, now that the problem is moving into the spotlight opinions and feelings are changing.Players on all levels of the game are leaving the game because of their concerns about brain injuries within the game. Jacob Bell a young man who played the game his whole life and once made millions in football starting for the rams and the titans but he retired from football in fear that a brain injury might affect his long term life negatively (Schwarz).
