Recommended: The effects of technology on the business

The computer has numerous uses in the work place; its ability to make work a little easier can be observed on a typical day in the bank or supermarket. The aim of this research is to explore the uses of different computers and similar systems in the business environment. This research will enable the learner appreciate the age of technology and how far it has come since its invention. This research will enlighten the reader on some of the computerized devices that they see around and its function in the environment they often see it in. Background Given the nature of computer use in Jamaica, every business has its peculiar need for it, it is due to this fact that; Hi lo Super market in Crossroads, has been chosen to be the business of choice for this research Hi lo, will be visited and explored, in order to identify all the types of computers the business uses, and its purpose for use will be discussed in the research. This research will provide insight on the various systems that Hilo uses to run their daily businesses and the computerized systems and devices they utilize. Objectives The motive behind this research is to observe the current computers being utilized by a specific business (Hilo supermarket) and understand its main parts and functions in the world of business and the various environs in which they are employed. Methodology Computer use in Jamaica has become widespread, and due to this fact computers are seen practically in every organization. This project seeks to unravel the uses of these computers in their various places of use by making personal observations in a supermarket setting, on the types of computer systems being used. Arithmetic Logic Unit; An ALU is a digital circuit used to perform arithmetic and logic operations, this operations can be done by more than one ALU , they input data from the register after the control unit has instructed it on which task to perform on a particular set of data.
