Computer Hardware and Peripherals at first seemed all very new to me. When the course first began I kept saying to myself “What does this have to do with Criminal Justice?” however, as the course went on and we got more into our special topics, it all started to make sense. Criminal justice has so many different leads from, cyber, law, financial investigations, and so on. Having such a large variety of study is what makes this field much more interesting and exciting. At first, I felt overwhelmed with the content of our readings because it seemed to focus more on cyber than ECI, however there is a relation between all different areas of Criminal Justice. I had to really analyze the content and relate it to my side of things as an Economic

This area of study definitely plays a major part of criminal investigations. One aspect that is always brought up when discussing developing technologies is the creation of back doors that could make such a great new technology beneficial to the “bad guys”. The features of upcoming tools and technologies, I would agree would be very beneficial to a criminal investigation process, as far as providing the evidence to move along at a faster paste in an investigation.
However, something that seems so good, if obtained by the wrong person can become a terrible thing. In my senior seminar course I did an intelligence report on the FBI v Apple case and one of Apple 's biggest standpoints was that this precedence would create backdoor for all of Apple 's products, and once the exploitation is created it could be used by hackers. This would ultimately cause the loss of customers due to a lack of trust. These backdoors are something to be very cautious of and although there may be many pros to using it, we must also keep in mind the cons and identify the possible

One example is steganography, it was interesting to learn that until now, steganography has not been considered a serious threat in comparison to other cybercrime activities, and it is likely that criminals are aware of the focus not being on this type of threat which makes sense as to why spies made use of this tool. By investigators focusing primarily on the obvious tactics that criminals use, it leaves room for this kind of tool to go unnoticed. A case such as this will help us to be more cautious of methods that may seem to be unlikely, but still places a risk.
One quote that I always kept in mind throughout high school and college is one by an American motivational speaker, Denis Waitley. He said, “The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don 't define them, learn about them, or even seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.” My main three goals in life are to be successful and happy in life, make a change, and to help those less fortunate than
