Components that can Make up a Person´s Attitude

There are many thoughts that goes through peoples minds and those thoughts later determine ones mines set on wither one will fail or one will succedd in life as well as in school. The way a person behaves has a positive or negative effect on their behave and there environment. There have been many theories on why ones attitude can change and be formatted. One theory that has been giving is observation learning. Social Psychology, defines observational leaning as “basic form of learning in which individuals acquire new forms of behavior as result of observing other.” When a person is observation learning they tend to form a new attitude. According to Psychologists they define attitude as “learned tendency to evaluate things in a certain way.” There are three different components that can make up a persons attitude. One being emotional, which is how a person or object can make a person feels. Two is behavioral, which people are being influenced by others or a certain thing, and last is cognitive, which is how a person thinks about things or there beliefs they have. Attitudes can also be learned in many different ways and most people’s attitude not only come from behavioral issue but personal experiences as well. As a person grows older one can form their own opinion on learning socially by “the process through which we acquire new information, forms of behavior, or attitudes from other people” (150). There are so many things changing around the world and new things popping up each day. Everything that was not popular in the early 1950’s is now popular today and it makes people look at people in a different way. That where attitudes are formed about people or things people do. Which goes along with stereotyping, Steele states that stereotyping affects minorities, which derives them from the ability to do well. When students are not being stereotype they are on the path to succeed better because people do not look at them differently. Steel states that even in low-income communities there are still African Americans reaching above average. When minorities fit in like everyone else they have a chance of achieving their educational goal. Swell also explains the era of slavery, that slaves were taught to read and write. He feels that the education gap can’t come from this but from other major problems that went on. Even though there is an education gap in the communities, if everyone comes together to support the students and help them progress will be made.
