Compelling Concepts of Organizational Behavior

Albert Einstein's famous quote "Once you stop learning, you start dying", has such a profound meaning to it. People who want to excel in life hunger for knowledge, seeking to learn more. I have found that the Organizational Behavior class has given me a boundless amount of information, knowledge and insight that I feel will help me to become successful in the business world. So what exactly are the paramount lessons I will be walking away with? First and most importantly, I learned the significance of ground level team members, and the important roles each person plays into the changes that an organization must make in order to continue to be profitable and have a successful business. Secondly, I learned the distinct differences between leaders and managers, and how important understanding this difference is to improving an organization. Lastly, I learned that you must learn to live before you die. Since I have spent this week out of town, watching my son wrestle in a state championship, I have had to look at the dynamics of sports. I realized how sports parallels the business world. High School Wrestling, in particular is a great analogy of the business world, and I also think the sport has some great lessons for our younger generations, that may someday become leaders themselves. Wrestling is both an individual sport, as well as a team sport, much like the business world. Organizations are made up of many people who work individually, and yet play very important roles to a team, and their organization, even the junior varsity kids, and the ground level employees. I say this because these are the team mates who, will at some point be leading the sports team, or managing a group of subordinates. Wrestling requires hard work, ... ... middle of paper ... ...t have any regrets. Continue learning, and excelling at everything you do. Always give whatever you do, everything you have. Stay dedicated, and loyal to yourself, your happiness and your needs. If a person can walk away with the knowledge of everything listed above, and be able to implement half of it into their daily lives, I am most certain that quality of life will double for anyone or any company who attempts to implement these strategies.
