Inefficient communication within the boundaries of the organisation can result in several departmental conflicts which affect the business entity as a whole. Internal communication plays a vital role for almost every business entity and there are several piece of evidence to support the statement. Organizations with efficient communication are flourishing and achieving their intended goals in a timely manner, while various other organisations fall short of optimum utilisation of their resource. Many other organisations are failing to succeed due to lack of information flow and improper communication channel (Hanna, 2005). Due to ineffective connection between employees within the structure of the business, it can result in conflicts between the departments and affects the organisation as a whole. Studies have shown that inter departmental communication is one of the key issues which an organisation faces in a day today activity. This essay reflects the importance of knowledge sharing and learning within inter departments and how the same can be overcome by considering the possible measures and implementing them within an organisation.
From a management perspective during the business operations, the entity grows and as they grow the co-ordination and dependency on another department also increases vastly. Due to this the objectives and long term goals of the organisation are distributed over many departments. Each unit has specific skillset and capacity which is aligned with the firm’s strategy and to meet the same knowledge sharing is very vital process. Knowledge sharing is a combination of actions that comprise the sharing of knowledge or facility to support others ( Jashapara and Prasarnphanich, 2004). Possession of knowledge ...

...plemented by division of talent in different division of an organisation. As Ben (2003) compliment the idea of implementing job rotation because it can be very useful to train an individual understanding other department needs. This will allow employees to understand the work-flow within the organisation and understand how different team work and the interdependency on each other building a better team as whole. As job rotation enables identifying the character, ethical principles of an employee which enables a good team building where the employees exchange information between them considering their role is more pivotal and important and they should not handle the information with themselves. Further it results interaction among individuals from different departments and allows quick response and a mutual agreement in the form of formal or informal communication.
Leadership is a communication process of a leader and individuals in which the leaders behavior or attitude directs individuals towards any goal effectively. It is widely believed that leadership creates the vital link between organizational effectiveness and people’s performance at an organizational level (Avolio, 1999; McGrath and MacMillan, 2000). The effectiveness of an organization depends upon the leader having an effective leadership style in order to effectively reach the goal of the organization; with it being one of the key driving forces for improving a firm’s performance. Scholars suggest that effective leadership behaviors can facilitate the improvement of performance when organizations face problems (McGrath and MacMillan, 2000). To effectively achieve leadership of individuals and organizational outcomes, four theories can be used; Fiedler’s Contingency Model, Hersey and Blanchard’s Situational Leadership Model, Vroom & Yetton Participative Leadership Model, and House & Dessler Path-Goal Theory.
Within an organization one of the key tools that they use is that of: communication. Communication is a primary key to any organization and without it there is no cohesion, no leadership, and no functionality. As communication begins to diminish, so does the organization – as one article puts it: “These new economic…. imperatives have significantly contributed to the demise of the old classic command-and-control bureaucracy…” (Tiernan et al, 2002, 47-48). From what this article states, the lack of communication has led to a semi-collapse of the mechanistic structure of an organization. Though communication does seem like a huge factor of an organization, communication does not come without its troubles within the inter-organizations; if there is communication going on in a company, there is going to also be a lack of communication. When a company has employed thousands of people (or maybe just a small amount) they are hiring a whole selection of individuals to work as whole group in unity – though this does seem like an amazing idea, these sets of individuals will have quite ...
The management of knowledge within the context of organizational processes is a determining factor of its effectiveness and level of performance. Hislop (2013) stated, "One of the key distinctions in the knowledge management literature relates to epistemology" (p. 8). In an attempt to acquire an in-depth understanding of key aspects of knowledge management I will analyze a key organizational job position that possesses valuable experience and traits of fulfilling responsibilities. My analysis will include a description of the organization and position, a review of the perspectives and types of knowledge, as described by Hislop (2013), as they relate to the job position, and the challenges encountered in transferring
Every day we are communicating with each other. this be in various different ways, be it by words, actions or even expressions. For a good and effective manager, communication aids to create and sustain organization operations, through a two-way conversation. "forcing one-way communication on to people without their understanding and without understanding them makes for poor management"(Torkildsen, 2011 P.348). There are four different types of communicating with one another, verbal, non verbal, formal and informal. All four forms of communication on a management outlook may be used to communicate information or knowledge of authority, to delegate responsibilities and tasks and to provide important information. However, as Aquino (2000) stated that conflict is the major disadvantage of communication within the work place. Staff members may use communication to argue and disagree with each other and also with management. Thus, causing tension and anxiety which can prevent completion of tasks and disrupt the teams cohesion. Under conflict, staff may feel as...
The Importance of Communication & nbsp; I believe that one of my strengths lies in the way I communicate and deal with children. I think that we must become active listeners in order to understand each other. During my internship with the Institute for Social Justice, I worked with inmates on research for alternative social models of punishment. In order to do the job effectively, I needed to empathize with the inmates so that I could understand their concerns and needs and remedy any self-destructive conduct they exhibit. The work also involved an all out hunt on my part to place these inmates into environments and programs that would prove healthy for them. & nbsp ; I maintained a working relationship with my friends at the Institute and checked their progress weekly. I believe that the power to empathize, or the ability to put yourself in someone else's place begins with an open mind. When I say that we must become active listeners in order to understand one another, I mean to say that there are subtle movements in our speech, certain words that we use, certain utterances that are not directed towards us, certain circumstances unrevealed to us. We must endeavor to in my studies in your department. & nbsp;

As one can see, communication is about more than just exchanging information. It 's about discerning the emotion and intention behind the information. (Segal, Robinson, & Smith, 2016). Effective communication is also a two-way street. It’s not only how one convey a message so that it is received and understood by someone in exactly the way one intended, but it’s also how one listen to gain the full meaning of what’s being said and to make the other person feel heard and understood (Segal, Robinson, & Smith, 2016). Effective communication also serves as an instrument for any professional; this also helps to build adaptive, good working relationships between you and your staff/co-workers, which can in turn improve morale and efficiency (Queensland Government, 2016). In the business world to be considered a true professional, one must be able to clearly explain company policies to customers and clients and answer their questions about your products or services (Queensland Government, 2016). There are some profitable businesses that

Communication is an integral part of working in the business environment. Individuals communicate various pieces of information to internal and external business stakeholders.The design of an organization should provide for communication in four in distinct directions: downward, upward, horizontal, and diagonal. But we have only discuss about downward communication and upward communication, where downward communication is more prevalent than upward communication in organization. Communication can flow vertically or laterally. The vertical dimension can be further divided into downward and upward direction. Downward communication is more prevalent because in this type of communication, we have to give orders and instructions to our sub-ordinates. So we have to explain each and every step that is going to help in work. But in upward communication they sub-ordinates do not have to give instructions their head.

From the study, 110 employees, which accounts for 88%, suggested that by through job rotation, they have acquired so many knowledge and competences on various job sections in the company. Consequently the study revealed that 120 of the employees have been in the company for more than 3 years. From their response, the most of them indicated that they enjoyed working in various job placements as they usually gained a lot of ideas and satisfaction, which may not be gotten from anywhere else. This is so in regard that, 60% of the Amazon Inc were found to have been promoted to superior positions due to their interests and competences they acquired from job rotations (Jorgensen,
