Communication plays a vital role in all aspects of any organization, it is essential that all employees of an organization are included in the communication process. This includes upper management right through to all employees within the organisational structure, communication is no less important in the Health service industry. To totally comprehend this there are a number of aspects to be looked at, aspects such as what is communication? Who communicates within the health service and what do they communicate? What role does the organisational structure play in communication including leadership and management and how does communication affect the goals and culture within a health service context. There are a number of ways in which the health sector can communicate; it can be done by the executives talking to the managers, managers relaying information to their staff, the use of internal memorandums, holding both departmental and organisational meetings, as will be shown it is essential that however communication is delivered that it be clear and concise so as to avoid any confusion and misinterpretation amongst the organization, this is of the most importance in the health care sector as patient care depends on it.
Communication is the process of conveying information using things such as thoughts, messages or information, this can be done verbally, visually, using signals or also with behaviour.
