A common language that everybody knows is a foundation that will stabilize a nation. English has been a common language since the formation of the US, and acted as a foundation to raise its principles upon. America also has the highest immigration rate. People immigrate into the United States the legal way and become citizens but on the other hand many more enter into the United States the illegal way. Because these immigrants come from many countries they speak many different languages and have different cultures. Being a multicultural society with so many languages you can have endless possibilities of knowledge, experience and learning of different heritages. A common language must be a cornerstone or a foundation to being and becoming a citizen. A negative aspect of this multicultural society is it gets complicated when cultures based on contrasting ideas conflicting each other.
