College and high school are two different institutes of learning, both rigor and academic wise. Colleges have higher learning expectations and lower tolerance for unacceptable behavior versus high schools, which have lower learning expectations and higher tolerance for disruptive behavior. While there are many similarities in a college and a high school, the diverse worlds of these higher learning institutes differ in many ways. Cost of attending, freedom in classrooms, and the workload are a few of the main differences between the schools Chattahoochee Technical College (CTC) and Paulding County High School (PCHS).

First, in relation to cost, CTC is a lot more expensive than PCHS. Books, living expenses, and tuition are the biggest factors that make the cost of the college’s schooling high. Some colleges may even include the expense of using its computers in the library, labs and/or athletic facilities. An online article in U.S News and World Report stated “While the published tuition and fees at public and private colleges still increased in 2013, the growth was smaller than it has been in past years. In addition, the students have to worry about the cost for meal plans and their own transportation to and from Chattahoochee Technical College. In contrast, Paulding County High School students’ schooling is completely paid for by the sta...

The teachers allowing room for improvement gives the high school students a good chance to pass all their classes. CTC’s students are under more pressure academically than PCHS’ students.
On the bases of cost, freedoms, and workload Chattahoochee Technical College is more expensive, has more freedoms, and is more academically challenging and demanding than Paulding County High School. The biggest factor that contributes to all the differences stated is the level of responsibility. The college attendees are adults and are expected to act like one. They should be twice as mature and more level headed than the high school attendees, which contributes to the more freedoms and responsibilities Chattahoochee Tech students have

College Tuition And High School Essay

- It is unbelievable that just forty years ago college tuition had been in the triple digits. Currently, the average cost of tuition at an in-state public college is nearly $10,000; moreover, private college tuition exceeds $30,000. These institutions are raising their price in order to pay for the best professors, athletics, and extra amenities. Essay about Difference Between College And High School

- University, to me, is a totally different concept from high school, where teachers, expert in their specific field, would introduce you to the beauty of it. Yet, after my two-and-half-year college life, I gradually come to realize that although professors at college are good at teaching, the most important thing I have learned is to learn by oneself. You may probably say that it sounds a little self-contradictory. In fact, it is. But, as for me, it is also the truth. My Plans For College At High School Essay

- From the moment I entered high school people were asking me my plans for college. This question of “What college are you going to?” began to loom above my head like a giant storm cloud. Freshman year I had no idea, and the same for sophomore year. The only thing I new at that moment in time was that I wanted to play softball. The beginning of my junior year was when I began to actively seek out specific colleges, and by the end of my junior year I knew exactly what college I wanted to attend. Through the long process of choosing a college I learned that there are three things that should be thought about: will you be happy and succeed, the colleges location, and does it have your major....   [tags: High school, College, Secondary school, Thought]

Essay on College And High School Are Two Different Animals

- College and high school are two different animals. As the end of my first semester at EIU comes to a close, it has clearly been a much different experience than my high school experience. Going off to college, I expected it to be a little different than high school just because I was going to be living on my own, and I would have the sole responsibility of taking care of myself. The realization came rather quickly that there are differences between the two. College is expensive, the undergrad workload has increased compared to the last four years, and being involved in college athletics also adds a new dimension to my schedule....   [tags: High school, College, Secondary school]
