Collaboration is a working method whereby employees work together to a similar purpose of achieving a business benefit. Collaboration can also be the ability to operate together in business to enhance performance and results. The combination of a number of factors may assist or steer collaboration to attain business results, via empowerment and technology.

Globalization is a quickly developing incorporation of economies and societies around the globe, leading to rising connectivity, combination and interdependence in the social, technological, economical, and political spheres. It is comprised of growing mobility of products, services, capital, labor and technology. Primary forces spearheading globalization are the loosening of markets and the effect of information communication technologies (ICTs) on goods, processes and market operations (Bates & Smith, 2010).
To be exact, internet-oriented supply channels and collaborative working environments (CWEs) for societies and teams play a vital role in enabling businesses to respond efficiently to the difficulties and opportunities intrinsic in globalization. Progressively more, the Web 2.0 technologies are being utilized in this line. The intensity and shape of the continuing route to globalization and the incorporation of global collaboration are heavily affected by governmental policies and global bodies including enterprise strategies. Collaborative working environments have played a big role in the present global business environment. For instance, introducing international teams for research and design constituting of experts from distinct companies, or to allow multi-location teamwork among time zones within a multinational firm.
