Introduction:
The Climate Change Department was established by the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change in 2012. A committee was established to advise the Minister as well as a Climate Change: Policy Framework aimed at promoting understanding/cooperation and oneness on the issues.

According to the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change http://www.mwh.gov.jm/; its Senior Director is Miss Gillian Guthrie.

Furthermore the name of the Divison relevant to our assessment here is Land Policy and Administration.
According to (http://www.mwh.gov.jm/index.php/focus-areas/climate-change/27-full-length-news-article/86-climate-change-info-full-length, “ it opines the following as its mandate: Environmental Stewardship - We commit to preserving the environment through policies, practices and public awareness to ensure healthy and comfortable living for this and future generations. Teamwork - We commit to fostering a collaborative effort with all stakeholders to achieve the Ministry's goals. Accountability - We commit to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and ethical standards through openness in all we do, with a view to maintaining public trust.”

Context: the Climate Change Department:

Having related what Mr. Daley has said, might be a fair juxtaposition of not all organizations/Government agencies in Jamaica, however he spoke of upcoming policy framework and strategies that will seek to make gender mainstreaming a reality.

Plans, strategies and framework of the Ministry going forward: Suggestions/Recommendations:
With regards to suggestions, I would implore that the Climate Change Department be given a intellectual boost, in installing critical thinking, analytical and bright minds from the Nation’s premier institutions. The University of the West Indies, Social Sciences Department among others works in tandem with the Climate Change Department; however graduates should be employed to take Climate Change initiatives from the theoretical framework to practicality.
