Civil Unions and Same-Sex Marriages

In this essay i’ll be describing the sociogical forces and the problems created by same-sex marriage and the civil unions in america.
Sociological forces are task that are made to influence or cause change to and individual or a group of people two controversial social forces are civil unions and same-sex marriage. First society commonly states that marriage is a commit honor between men and women to take care of each other until death do them apart. Now we have same-sex marriages through out the united states in different states in the the 50’s and 60’s this wasn’t allowed and being gay or lesbian was consider a person with a mental illness. The Controversy today on same –sex marriage what was once frown upon is now embrace and rationalize in society. “Many of the reasons offered for opposing gay marriage are based on the assumption that gays have a choice in who they can feel attracted to, and the reality is quite different. Many people actually believe that gays could simply choose to be heterosexual if they wished. But the reality is that very few do have a choice -- any more than very few heterosexuals could choose which sex to find themselves attracted to” (Gay Marriage: The Arguments and the Motives). In united states there are 16 states that allow same-sex marriage to take place with New York and California being the two biggest of all the states that allow people of the same gender to merger. Although most of society are accepting of same-sex marriage there are still people who disagree with the law and have protest that same-sex marriage should be banned. ...al the more revune a state has the more likely the bill will be passed for gay marrige. Economically states like mississippi, south carolina, north carolina can’t afford to pass a bill like this because the state diesn’t generate enough money. I believe the outcome on civil union and same-sex marriage will prosper because of how accepting society is getting. Years ago this wouldn’t have been considered but i think america more than any country is heading in the right direction toward supporting gay couples. Jason collins a professional basketball player openly admited he’s gay and most of use respected him even more because until him there hasn’t been and open gay men playing in the nba he became the face of the gay culture.
