Christianity is best understood with the belief of Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected from the dead, therefore, Christianity is based on Jesus’ death and resurrection.
The Bible is the book that Christians should read and follow. It contains sixty-six different books. The Bible contains stories during the time of Jesus, and also commandments, rules, and laws we should follow as Christians. In the Gospel of John, John 1:1, it reads, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Word is capitalized, showing importance and authority. The Bible is also referred to as the Word, or God’s Word. Maybe it also refers to the words that Jesus spoke. Some Bibles are printed in red letters, representing the words that Jesus spoke. The Bible also contains parables, which are simple stories with deeper spiritual meaning.
The Bible is holy. It is a sacred text. We expect to find stories about Jesus and the ancient people in the Bible. When you read the Bible, it can speak to you. The words in the stories may have a great impact on you personally. No matter what mood you are in or what emotions you are feeling, there is always a verse that will match up to what you are feeling. Revelation is filled with bizarre symbolic visions, violent repetitions of action, and a movement from catastrophe to triumph. Revelation is meant to inspire Christians not to give up hope when experiencing suffering, since God will ultimately have the last word and make right all that is wrong. There is only one way to avoid facing eternal torment for sins: Don’t sin. Only those who believe in Christ and lead upright moral lives can expect to enter into his kingdom. All others will be dammed by God to face horrific pain and suffering for all
